Water Temp: 52-53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: you may not believe this but on sunday when most of the area was experiencing a large storm the lake was very fishable. we got into a few groups of spotted bass in the narrows and main body of the lake. fish seemed very finicky on the take but all fish were good fish, up to 2.5 pounds. All of the fish cam out of 8-12 feet of water, tried deeper water but no takes.
City: davosTips: salt and pepper worms, or if you have it any of the predator worms with the blue or purple line down the middle

Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Water clarity was clear in most of the lake (that characteristic Berryessa Green tinted color), the mud line was well up Putah Creek after the big storms of last weekend. Even up Putah, it wasn't as muddy as I've seen it in years past. There's a foot or so visability up in Putah, about a mile past the Boy Scout Camp. Water was a little cooler up there compared with the narrows. Only got one small keeper largemouth in deep water off rock wall in the narrows. I was sitting in 50'. Talked to two other guys, one had just one smallmouth on a worm up in Putah, the other was Dropshot, who had 5 fish up to 2.5 lbs. Seems like all the tournament boats I saw were in the south end of the lake fishing the main rock walls and points.
City: Bay PointTips: No suggestions, cause I didn't do so well. Keep you eye out for wild life, though. I saw a bobcat and a pair of bald eagles up in Putah. Heard some coyotes howling too.

Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished main lake area, searched for rock piles and large boulder point (west side). Fished for 6 hrs, caught and released 6 fish had 8 hits. 5 of those fish averaged around 2lbs. Caught all the fish on either black or brown jigs with junebug trailer. Fish came from 15 to 25ft of water. Couldnt get a rip bite nor a worm bite to go.
City: Castro ValleyTips: Right know Id stay with the main lake area, creeks are stained brown. fish main bays but stay on the out side near deep water, finding rocky area in 15 to 40ft of water. Fish jigs slooooow until you can determine what there aggressiveness is. Black or brown jigs will work.

Report: NEWBASS held its first tounament of the Northern Team Division. The eager NEWBASS fisherman were presented with a partly-cloudy day, with lows in the 40s and highs in the 50s. Lake Berryessa was in true form, favoring the NEWBASS contestants with smallmouth bass, and a few largemouth. The Winners of the Tournament caught a great limit of smallmouth and culled one 2 pound smallmouth with an 8.5 pound largemouth. This largemouth helped put the winners weight in with over 20 pounds of bass. This weight brought over $1600.00 to the excited winners. Come out and enjoy a day with NEWBASS check out the tournaments at www.newbass.com and have a chance to win 2 RANGER BOATS at the GRAND FISH OFF!
City: Yuba CityTips: During this NEWBASS Northern Team tournament the majority of fish were caught on points 20- 25 feet deep using some sort of plastics. Although there were some shallow reaction fish, the majority came around 20 - 25 feet.

Report: Troy and I launched outa Markley Cove at 7:00am in my canoe with brokn' back rapalas behind us as we trolled twords the dam. We trolled most of the day, stopping occasionally at the points and thowing plastics at the banks. Nothin' hit until about noon were I foul hooked a pinner bass. That was it for the day. We saw wild turkeys on the banks. Fished for those things for hours and they would'nt bite either. Berryessa is quiet this time of year and it's worth a trip before all the knuckleheads return.

Report: Fishing with a friend on Saturday morning. We spent better part of the morning throwing and shaking darter heads with purple ghost/salt and pepper 4 inch straight worms and caught two nice smallies (1.5 lb plus), and a spotted bass (over a pound). All well fed, one smally let go several minows as it was reeled in. We were targeting points and small rock banks at the top of the narrows, before reaching the main lake. Fish were caught at 20 plus feet, although we also spent some time exploring the shallows.

Report: Fished ABA NorCal Region Opener on Berryessa. We caught a 8.72lb (10th place)limit on a variety of techniques. We worked on a single pattern: reaction baits on weedlines followed up with a carolina Brushhog on a rocky point. We used a shad colored crank on weedlines and caught 4 fish. We ripped one 2.52lb Smallie on top of sparse weeds. The conditions were: post front with a north wind, and bluebird skies. We stuck to the weed pattern discovered by our friend John Z. about four weeks earlier. John's team took 8.90lbs (9th place) by worming points in 8-12 feet, throwing spooks and spinnerbaits. -vernon

Report: Fished the WON Team Tourney. My partner and I struggled most of the day and only brought two bass to the scales. However, one of them tied for Big Fish of the tourney at 4.48#. Took the big fish on top water up the creek at about 11:00. Picked up the scond bass on a crank. We didn't find any worm bite, however after the weigh-in several other anglers said they had worm fish deep - 40 to 50 feet. Others found blade fish on the main body. Lot of earth gass coming to the surface so lake seems to be turning.
