Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Aggresive strikes = spawning behavior? Feeding behavior? Tough to summarize what the bass were doing this last weekend. It's not worth mentioning how many or what I caught fish with, cause the bottom line is the fishing was the worst I've ever seen in the month of June and it doesn't say anything about what will work for folks wanting to fish clear lake in the next week. I promised my cousin she'd catch a bass and I didn't happen. Very bummed about that.
      City: Fort Bragg

Tips: I think Mr. Hemphill had the right idea to fish deeper, it's just tough to do without electronics or without lots of experience on the lake.

      Water Temp: 55-65 F

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Been fishing the lake all along. Last 2 weeks, caught alot of fish on crankbaits, with a few on texas rigged worms, when we got bored. Bite is good in the am and pm, but best in the pm. Fish are scattered but can be found focused on points and near willows. A surprisng amount of small mouth are showing up. Yeh for the smallies. Fish are showing ragged tails and bloody buts, so we are well into the spawn. Water temps are optimum for spawning.
      City: Redding

Tips: Good Luck. A slow beginning does not mean you will not get on to them. Keep trying, and you will be there when they choose to bite!!

Report: Papoose is holding lots of big fish off walls. Drop shot or darter slow!!!
      City: Red Bluff

Tips: Cast it out and let it sit. When you think you've let it sit long enough, wait longer.

      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished south area the whole day. Launched out of Tracy Oasis caught 14 fish on various color Trick Worms. Two were caught on the Sweet Beaver. Nothing on cranks or spinner baits. Fish were around 8-12ft deep.
      City: Tracy, CA

Tips: Use watermelon red, junebug, and green pumpkin colors. Texas rig 3/4oz weight. Watch your line the fish are sucking in the bait and just move a little so the strike is hard to feel. Look for moving water the fish are very active on the main channels.

      Water Temp: 68-71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We arrived Sat. afternoon the 5th and fished through Friday the 11th. We hit it hard everyday from 5-6am to 7-8pm everyday. On the first 4 days we averaged around 20 fish a day with a 5lb 6oz and a 5lb 0oz the largest. On Wednesday a cold front was coming in and we caught 30 for the day mostly on a 1/4oz jig from North Lakeport to Rodman slough. Lots of fish on beds up there but size was 2 1/2lbs to 3 lbs. After it got down to 45 degrees Wed. night the temp dropped 8 degrees and it got tough. We tried up north again and the water was cloudy and we caught a couple. We ended up with 9 for the day and Friday 10 for the day. Overall the fishing was tough for Clear Lake but we have been spoiled over the years. It is still a great fishery.
      City: Winston, Oregon

Tips: Throw a Frog and grind it out for 8-10 fish a day. The frog was catching all the larger ones for us. Also throw a small fineese jig around beds and docks.

      Water Temp: 67-72

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Wow! 70 degree water - finally!! I took a father-son team today (Sat), helping dad learn the lake better for upcoming tournaments and helping the son catch his first - and second sight fish! Dad caught 5, son 2, and me, 2. While they were fishing Senkos, jigs, Robo worms and the like, I had a chance to see if any deep bass would bite on a Piranha Swim Jig - white/chartreuse. Sure enough, I brought one up from about 40 feet - a nice 5 to 6 pounder. She jumped and it was over! Dad and I both lost 2 or 3 other deep fish on the Piranha. Hooks was fine - just one of those days!! Most of their bass were caught on a white Blade Runner jig w/ chartreuse Yamamoto grub. Our best bite was from 10 am to noon - including our big bites.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Still lots of spawning going on, but most seem to be smaller now. Hard to find edges of weeds now - pretty thick everywhere. I also tried to see if the topwater bite might happen a little. Nothing yet for my boat.

Tips: Carolina, dart, senko, chatter, spook, frog. Apply those lures to their presentation. Worked all over the South and Main Body. (Did not fish trees). Good fishing, Jimbazooka quality

Report: Saturday 6/5/10, l fished from the front (my boat). In the morning, we fished the Dry Creek branch where the water temperature was 67 - 69

Tips: Look for cooler water. It appeared that the bite was better in water cooler than 70

      Water Temp: 56-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: To answer the question in the previous post about the ramp at Fairview, by the dam, I was there Saturday the 5th and there is only about 3ft. of concrete in the water and the end of the ramp drops off vertically about 16 inches, so it's not usable yet. The lake is rising at the rate of about a foot per day, so it shouldn't be long before it is usable, especially if the weather stays warm and the snow continues to melt. For now suggest that you use the Minersville ramp. Slow day for me with lots of small fish, but nothing bigger than 2lbs. caught most of them on tubes.

Report: trying to figure out the pattern can't do that cuz I cant launch my electric motor'd boat or a fck'n float tube.. If ya all agree let the freeking rowers pay for the inspection.. Dam correct me if I'm wrong... HEY THEY RUN GAS MOTORS IN THERE AND THE MOTORS ARE TWO STROKES LOS GATOS ROWING CLUB AND ALL THE CLUB'S DONT OWN IT... I PAY TAXES ALSO..
      City: san jose

Tips: This is the tip. The rowers have access, so should I.. I live on the lake.. Open the lake to everyone, not gas motor's , electric , is good.. but.. the los gatos rowers and other rowers big lake stay in the middle.. Come on , the lake is beautiful now, and I can't enjoy it... IF I CANT THEN THE THE ROWER'S CANT .. If you disaggree with this then let me know,, and or call the parks and recreation department , let them know that those boats have to be inspected every time they leave the lake,, WHO IS CHECKING THOSE OUT WHEN THEY COME BACK....LET ME KNOW

      Water Temp: 64-67

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Was I crazy to agree to guide a grandpa, his son, and his 4 yr old granddaughter and 6 yr old grandson - 2 days after the Memorial Day holiday? I thought so - but I was up to the task - I hoped!! Great family! So, off we went from the dam on the somewhat crowded Ranger 520! We had three Loomis rods rigged with 4" Robo worms and started on the east side of the main body. Water was nice and clean with very little floating wood. Dad got a bite on the first cast but luckily, missed it! No Jinx this time! He soon caught an 8" smallmouth - rare these days. I was working with the boy - yes, his name is "FINN" - helping him with casting and retrieving a worm. I had a bite and set the hook. Wow - good fish - handing it to Finn and hoped he could handle it. He did very well and soon put a 16" spot in the boat. That was the beginning of an amazing 4 hours. Dad and the kids landed 4 more spots at 15 1/4, 16 1/2, 16 7/8, and 17 3/8 inches - 5 over the slot! They hooked and landed them all except for the first one that I handed off to Finn. They landed around 15 to 17 bass - including a LARGEMOUTH in the middle fork! We saw another largemouth also. After the kids discovered my worm box and explored that for the last hour, I taught the "men" how to drop-shot and they landed some (including the biggest spot) and missed some. Lots of smiles during the trip and the boat rides were a highlight - especially for Finn! He was hoping we could go 80 MPH! I told him not to dare tell his mother how fast we did go!!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The first "over 15" that Finn and I shared was caught on a MMIII 4" Robo worm. The other 4 "overs" were all caught on a morning dawn w/ chartreuse tail 4" Robos. A few were caught on Aarons Magic colors. Clay banks with chunk rock were our best areas. The bass were from 5 to 25 feet. The lake is flooding grass now - a beautiful sight to see. It is about 70+ percent full. Because of the limited time and learning curve, we only used Robo worms. That's all you need at Oroville. I guess the bigger bass figured it was safe to eat since the holiday was over. You just never know what will happen when you leave the dock!!

Report: Took a 30mile rough-ass drive from Upper Lake to Pillsbury.Lake is full and looks perfect for largemouth(willows in water, shallow coves, rocks and stumps.About 15 mins. into it, stuck a 4lb'er with a Sweet Beaver. It's partner followed it to boat. We figured it was on, but it turned out to be the only bass bite rest of day! There is low pressure coming in right now, so we're hoping that's what put the fish off.Saw no trout, bait fish, or surface action. Since this is 1st time to Pillsbury in many years, not exactly sure what to think about the poor fishing. Hopefully the fish population is there, it may still be too early.
      City: Hidden Valley Lake

Tips: Be sure to have your quagga mussel sticker and go in from Potter Valley side, the road is much better.
Oh ya, the friggin squaw fish love senkos!
