Report: went to rainbow lake for short 2 hrs fishing today. IT WAS STILL REALLY SLOW. This year the horseshoe and rainbow are weird for bass. I guess the water is too high still. Last year me and my buddy were nailing the smallmouth and the largemouth together. hopefully its going to pick up again soon.

Tips: dropshot for bass is the ticket for the hot weather at rainbow lake.

    Water Temp: 50's

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: went to the horseshoe for an hour of exercise. caught a fat 16 inch largemouth on a crankbait. yes, she was caught and released alive. she had all the markings of pre spawn.

water is really high and stained from the rains. almost no shore to walk around. really muddy. all the good drop offs are submerged. i'll have to start bring in the tube or boat.
    City: Fremont

Tips: downsize and slow roll. they're right between the first and 2nd drop off. i can't wait til the blade bite starts. i guess that should be in a few more weeks.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the lake for a few hours. Didn't get an early start on it, but ended up with a limit of catfish. Had the first fish on within the first 30 minutes and it never ended until I ran out out of bait. I must have hit the right hole and also the past weeks rain must have helped too. Trout fishing was slow and I saw one big fish caught across the shore from where I was at. Ranger told me that alot guys were getting the skunk on since fishing early in the morning.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished this lake from 8am to 3pm and was targeting the fall catfish. I was fishing the deepest parts of the middle of the lake that I could find and my bait of choice was wax worms. Well the first fish to come was a shaker trout DFG size, second was a three pound trout w/ bugged out eyes from coming out of the deep water I guess. And finally at about 2pm I got my targeted species a nice 2lb channel cat.
    City: Daly City

Tips: Fished it slow and crank it slow.

Report: Got a late start and it proved to be the clincher on getting the black and white at this lake. Fishing was extremely slow after the 8am to 1pm marks. I saw some fish scratched up, but even the veteran trollers and bank fisherman had a tough time at it.
    City: Daly City

Tips: What I saw that was working was chartreus/glitter and white power eggs spiked with a crawler.

    Water Temp: NA

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lake Elizabeth hasn't been stocked in years. There were a few very nasty catfish in there and I would see an occasional bluegill yanked out but it's not a fishing spot anymore. They did a lot of dredging and stuff last year and I don't know if a fish has been caught since then. One of the rangers was hopeful they would start stocking again next season but he admitted that was more of a fantasy on his part than anything else.
    City: Fremont

    Tips: Catch and release!!!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I have not fished here for sometime, however, my wife and I were walking the bank on 10/02 and I did talk to some kick-boat guys that fished Rainbow Lake. They caught all there fish off of the flats and old gravel mining roads, all on the drop-shot(shad-type patterns). All dinks.
I did tubed Quarry Lake last spring a few times, same types of loactions (old roads etc.) except in this lake they have smallies!!! A lot of fun on light tackle.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Get off the bank and into the water. Boat, kick-boat or tube what ever you got. Way worth it!!
