    Report: Fished Coyote rom sunrise to 12:00. Best day o my ishing career. Caught one 2lber on spinner in morning. Then went to orange crawdad crankbait. 10 minutes later landed a 13.8lber. 2 hours later another nice one 9.7lber. Switched to grub and nailed a 11.2. at bass evrywhere. I used one secret weapon that will not be reveiled.

    Report: Two o us ished all day. Got 3 small ish on plastics. No luck on Senko, rip bait, spinner bait, jig, crank, etc. Wind was terrible!!!!Kid in a loat tube cought some nice bass.

    Tips: Been here a ew times now, this lake ishes dierent every time. Our ish on 4" plastics this time.

    Report: Jim and I ished this lake or the irst time. The olks at Coyote bait and tackle were very nice to us at the Outdoor show and we decided to give it a try.We tried the south end irst thing but the water was only 43o. down that end. no action or 1.5 hrs. Moved north and water was warmer and a little clearer. Saw alot o ish on the inder but no takers using jig, various worms, crank, and spinner baits. About 11:00 or so tried a senko. Hit a beautiul 4 pounder, tried a minnow on a bobber as well with no luck.Later on went back to the senco and hit a 2.5 and a 1.5. all really nice looking bass! short and chunky, look like they eed well here.we also tried swim bait and other cranks, jigs and worms. pretty cold all day. 3 other boats. One nice guy in a ranger said he got 3 and we saw him get at least one more.Nice little lake, like to try it in the spring!

    Report: I just recently moved to the monterey area and I have been looking or good bass lakes in the area. I ished Coyote resevoir on Wednesday or the irst time and caught 2 nice bass. I was ishing the rocks when I landed a 4 pounder and the other was close to 7. I got them in the mid-day using a 12 inch yodo worm. I also ished it riday and got skunked, although my riend did lose what could have been a lunker, on a purple and chartuese grub. I would appreciate any inormation about the lake. Do they plant trout and when? Knowing inormation about trout plants has caught soem big ish in the past. Also any inormation about other lakes in the area would be appreciated.Scott

    Report: Bruce and I ished sat morning. Seemed like every boat on the lake was throwing giant trout swimbaits. Maybe they are getting the big ish? We ished shiners and cought 6 rom 2.5 to 4.1 . Bruce kept 1 or dinner and we let the other 5 go. Mike

    Tips: ish seemed to start biting about 10am ater it warmed up a bit. Caught most o the ish rom 15 eet o water with one shallow ish.

    Report: Got on the water at 8. My dad, mom and I ished till noon. Got one 10.5 and 1 smaller ish around 3. Missed a couple other bites.

    Tips: Big ish was up near dam on steep bank in about 13 eet o water. My dad brought up crawdads rom San Diego. Can't beat the live stu or the winter cold water ishing.

    Report: Launched the boat at 8am. Me and Dave Fished up near the dam till noon and only got 1 small 2lb ish.Quit at noon. Brrrrrr, it is cold.

    Report: Hit the water about 8:15 in my loat tube. Swam across and the lake and ished the shallow south end. Got and 8.7, 6.7 and 3.5 on live crawdads. All released. Chest waders leaked so I roze my #$% o. Swam or shore shivering about 11am. Need to patch those waders.Mike

    Report: got on the water about 8:00am headed or the east wall by the dam ,took 2 ish on the outside edge o the weedline in 5 to 8t o water.both were good size in the 5lbs range.pulled up to the cove on the east side o the dam ,and trough out a castaic trout ripped one ater 5 casts it went 4.7,then cut over to the west weedline busted one pig at 8.4 worked the west to the 5mph bouy with no other takers.headed back or the launch about 12;00 couple guys need a scale,we weighed there ish at 9lbs 3ozs.

    Tips: water gets colder weedline and water level start to diminish,i you dont want to ish deep try the ringes o the weeds.purple jigs,brush hogs,senkos,or small plastics.ramp closed 11/5/01. i think you can still car top.good luck!and god bless.

    Report: First time on this lake. Went across rom the ramp and ound a tree and some bushes in 23.3' o water about 100yards o shore and started catching CRAPPIE!!! Got them on a 7" worm drop shotting and they were beautiul and BIG! But where were the bass? I was marking schools o ish and had to drop the Aqua View down and see what they were. They were bass, crappie and trout! Lake must be turning over because the weeds looked like they were dying and trout, big trout, were on the surace eeding like made dogs but the bass were in a negative mood. I could see that killer creek but desided that the shallow ish would be the toughest to catch so I went north and ished a rock pile and ledge that I graphed and inally started catching some bass. I threw brush hogs, 7" oxblood worms and crankbaits. There was no discernible holding spot because the ish were spread out so the bite came that way too. One here one there and never the same type o cover or more than one ish per spot. I simply went back and orth and caught the ish that were moving up and down the ledge. I managed 7 bass in the boat and 11 crappie. The biggest bass went over three pounds and the biggest crappie went over 16", holy smokes that was a good one. Guess I choose one o the o days to try this lake, as I have heard o many great stories about the average size being around three to our pounds and numbers o ish over ten being caught. Once this lake is inished turning over I'll be back or a second try and hopeully get one o those Coyote toads to go.

    Tips: I think when a lake gets tough the best thing you can do is stick with whatever you have the most conidence in and keep chucking. Your bound to get bit i you have conidence. I would say ishing slower was not the answer under these circumstances either. These ish were roaming and not just sitting there. Most o my ish came on the drop and only two o them came while I was working the bait. Give this lake another week and it should get better.

    Report: I was the irst boat on the water on Saturday morning. Started out with a buzzbait in the south end with only one short strike. Switched to 6" magic worms at about 9am. Quickly caught 2 small ish. Moved to deeper water where I was reading ish on the meter. Ater an hour and a hal o nothing I inally caught a decent ish (just under 3 lbs.). That was it or the day. Let at 1. Tough day.

    Tips: Lots o ish on the inder in about 20 eet o water. Fish slow. Topwater seems to be tough this time o year.

    Report: FISHING WAS TOUGH..partner and i caught three ish ... a 4 a 3 and a 2 one on rattle trap...one on crank.. and one carolina rigged lizard... water low..ramp will not be usable much longer... weeds starting to die ..

    Report: Tough bite this morning. Started o at 7 am and got one about 3 lbs on a buzzbait right away. Missed two more in the next 10 minutes, then no more topwater. Got two on a 6" silver senko and Chris got one on a 5" junebug senko. Missed one on a rog, and missed one on a jig. Tried throwing a Castaic trout or a while with no luck. Got one o my senko ish in the FAR south creek channel.

    Report: Threw grassrogs rom shore with a ew riends. The only ish we saw in the grass were the giant carp we kept spook'n, must have been a 20lb plus carp. Got me all wet when that carp jumped almost HALFWAY out o the lake.

    Tips: 17lb test 6 months old sucks. Change your line.
