Report: How does a five foot six portugee kick him self in the head, well he does it when he's trying to kick him self in the ass for not paying attention to the fishing reports and figures out that is where his head has been the whole time, in his ass! Well thats what I've been doing ever since the last tournament I fished. Now each time I've gone out, twice out of the Break and once out of Ladds I've caught limits, nice limits. Ones that what have put me in the major money at the Stratos tourney. ***PAY ATTENTION TO THESE REPORTS***, IF I had only read the reports of guys like Cooch and Micster and paid attention to them I really believe I would done much better on tournament day. have done much better tournament day

Report: 10/30 - Went out of Orwood. tossed buzzes, zip. tossed topwater, zip. tossed cranks, did better. outside weedlines. Also caught a few on jigs. Caught a light limit of maybe 9#s. 10/31 - fished Walton's tourney out of Ladds. Worked the matwall first thing to no avail. Ran all over, got a few dink bites. Finally caught one suicidal squeaker on a woym. Hooked a large bass out on the meatwall just before weigh-in, but lost at boat. Doh! Second place went to boaters who stayed at the meatwall all day. Double Doh!
City: BelmontTips: cranks - speed trap shad. jig rocky areas. Heck - don't look to me for advice - I'm new at this too!

Report: Fished Franks, Mildred, and connecting slough. Pitched brush Hogs, in Franks, caught 4-5 nicer fish, 2-3+lbs. Marked school of Stripers in deep cut in Franks, spooned em, not a bite. Ripped rattletrap through school, one small striper on the fall, released. Went back to black bass with rattletrap, speed traps, and glass shad. Caught 20 or so, most small, but nearly all keepers. Fish were mostly located in or near current on tule points. Most fish caught in/around Frank's. Not one bite at Mildred. Top 5 fish around 13 lbs total. No biggies, but constant action, so it was a lot of fun! Also, saw Dee Thomas - he and his partner came over the the spot I metered the stripers and worked it for ~45 minutes to an hour, but didn't get anything. He told me that a friend of his caught 25 stripers off this spot the day before. Guess they weren't hungry, but glad the blackies were!
City: Half Moon BayTips: Had to get crankbaits and glass shad down in current to get bit. Best luck was on shad imitation speed trap and shad rattletrap. Delta craw speed trap caught fish, but not as effective.

Report: Started fishing the break throwing top water, Frog, buzz, Ricos, had two blow-ups small, most likily small stripers. Went in to break water throwing crank (speedtraps) and found my baby bass. 6 bass about 6lbs. had fun. went into Sherman and started sticking stripers to 5lbs, that was fun until I inpelled myself with a 3/4 oz rattletrap in my index finger. day over instantly.
City: ConcordTips: Don't take lures out of stripers mouth without pliers

Report: Club tourney out of Kings Island. Pre-fish on Friday and the wind howled. Caught a 2# early on a frog twitching along the tules like a pop r. My boater got several dinks on a pop r. Spent alot of time in various places looking and caught lots of small fish on speed traps or jigs. Stuck a nice 10# salmon on a speed trap. Saturday's tourney: only short fish early on top water. Finally found keepers on speed traps on the outside edge of the weedlines. Got one keeper on a jig/grub combo in flowing water out of a cut. All keepers were small. Wind howled all day Saturday too. Missed Sunday's tourney. Had to go home due to fires in Redding.

Report: Windy! Fri - went out with hooksettr, flyinV & hook's brother. We sucked. Tried a lot of stuff but it was a challenge finding areas that weren't blownout. Biggest was V's 2+ lber on a followup to a frog. We couldn't land a keeper. Sat - Windier! CVBC tourney out of Paradise. Fished some different areas, figuring all we did was to find where the fish weren't. Caught two early, then got blown off. caught dinks rest of day. only two limits caught by club.
City: belmontTips: wait till the wind dies down.

Report: Started early am Ist spot I fattened up my first fish with a couple of good ole salty worms, never managed a hook up though, strong incoming current kept washing bait a little to fast, and being in the very south when the pumps kicked in all HE$% broke loose and time to fly . Ran up in the holland area, fished a small dock with moderate current, it had plenty of small 2+ keepers all caught on worms, wind started to pick so I worked my way back south thru Woodard, no bites, but I was actually just doing a hit and miss thing and fishing to fast, wind blew hat off in floor- time to go- off the water at noon....saw Bob Santora and he said his luck was about the same.better days ahead.....

Report: WINDY!! Blowing steady most of the day. Bite was tough for me. Managed a small limit on jigs and worms. Rock and tule clumps just outside of current. Cranked a few rock walls, but no takers.Incoming tide was strong today and the wind made for a tough day to be out there.

Report: my daughter and I fished the %100 bass team round up this weekend, and had a two day total of 33.77 not bad for 8 fish, we only managed 3 fish on day two. We did however crank up some bigguns on sat morn using dd 22's on various rocky points our best was a 9.70 followed by a 5.85, our best on sun was off Anderson island with the same dd 22 I cranked up another 5 + the good ole s-20 spade tail Iovino done the rest fishing in 8 to 12 ft of water. I would graph the points first and if they showed any larger fish I would stay until we caught one or two then on to the next....good luck to all those attending the WCB TOC next weekend,it was said many fish were caught using frogs, but when the crank bite is on its hard to do anything else.......Micster

Report: Fished the Round up , didnt do as well as I wanted but had a great time. The whole event was run as smooth and professional as any large tournemant i'v been to! We had some morning fish in practice that would eat Husky Jerks and jigs of shallow flat's close to deep water in the south end of the lake. We shared the areas we had with 20 to 25 other boat's and couldn't get those fish to go during the tournament. Ended up going after are afternoon fish to try to stay in it but it just didn't happen.Had two fish the first day on frog's from the north end , a 4 and a 5 , and couple of blow up's on spook's that broke are heart! And struggled the rest of tournament with only one more 4lber on a frog sun. Congrat's the team's that did get on and do well , they earned it! Dave
City: San JoseTips: Stay focused and dont let the pressure of other boats throw you off track , I learned alot from this one.

Report: Went out today before school but after a brake job. Got out at like 9.20. Threw out all the hype and even my experience in the last 3 wks and fished shallow. Fished laydowns and standing wood. Stuck a few good fish, but all of em were SILVER. Not a speck of black on em. Not even round the lateral lines. These fish were up in 3 ft of water and the calrity wasnt that bad. I assume they decided it was time to move up and start bitin. Hope it is a sign! All fish on laydowns and stick ups were on reaction baits. Then moved out and flipped "hard tules" in 3 ft and stuck some jig fish..also silver...hmmm, think there is sumtin going on here? I wonder.....Also checked on the deeper fish..they were there too.
City: AntiochTips: Do what you do best and just go out there and pound pound pound. But dont use a steady retrieve...shake um up a little.

Report: Went out of Orwood Sat afternoon % Sunday morn. Getting used to the long boat. Found decent jig bite just outside of Orwood Sat afternoon. Also did OK on worms and brushhogs. Nothing huge, though. Best five would have went maybe 10 - 12 lbs. Sunday, good morning bite. so foggy i couldn't get on plane. Partner got a nice buzz fish on fifth cast. Fished rock and disco. Best five would have gone 12 - 14lbs.
City: belmontTips: blues and purples with a touch of chartreuse, and PB & J worms/hogs. black w/red/purp jigs. slow fall. they semmed to be taking it on the first crawl, not the fall.

Report: Fished the hook team w/ my dad. My first event as a boater. My dad's first tourney period. He had a good time. We had a bad day out there. Hadnt prefished all week. Decided to fish a backwater pool area, crankin' just like evryone else. Only had 5 fish for 9.72 but had a 6+ at the boat, but my dad's inexperience failed to land the fish...he wont hear the end of it for a while since I had the big fihs for the tourney + would have had a top ten. But his first tourney so it is ok. Besides the loss of fish I found em. Gonna get em next time! People fished around us...but not like us...could miss us, Bright orange trihull!
City: AntiochTips: Fish Isolated cover on other cover, its like a double header. Fish reaction baits until fish get onto the fall bite. Jigs will catch fish but you will do better MAKING the fish bite. Dont leave an area till you are SURE there are no fish there.
