Report: NOTE:Reposted from Cooch's Fishing Page
To all the faithful followers, friends and family...It is with a heavier heart than you will ever know that I must let you know that Andy "Cooch" Cuccia has passed away. It was very sudden and very unexpected. I don't mean for this to seem impersonal but he had so many friends and acquaintances I did not know how else to reach you all. I write this as a way to let you all know, and more so as a way to help me wrap my head around this. Each of you had a part of his heart and you all shared his passion for the Delta and those big pigs! Keep those memories with you, always.
Keep a tight line.
Love, Jenny
He was always a big part of WesternBass, hosting the Pro-Teen, the first cover of the magazine. He will be greatly missed.
Coincidentally, WB had shown off Cooch and his nine pounder he caught this week, in today's Delta report. We hope everyone remembers him like this ... happy with the big one.
Best wishes and prayers to the family.

Report: Started the morning fishing points, outgoing tide, witnessed plenty of shad jumping just about everywhere, threw crank baits and produced a couple of keeper sized fish but amazingly when the fish saw the boat they for some reason came off the hook like they really didn't commit to taking it.
Had fish come off of creature baits also, almost was like a spawning season bite, most fish caught were 12 1/2 ", weighed 1 that was thirteen "
Also received a lot of bites but when setting the hook there was Nada. caught a small punch fish also.

It was bitting great with the occasional better fish until we ran into this skinny girl, which went 8lbs even. As soon the the tide fell out so did the bite. Walnut Grove Fishing Report
The Sacramento Turning Basin is really the unsung hero here as there continues to be stripes caught there by lure tossers. Hair Jigs and small shad patterns are the top choices here as well. Bank anglers Pile worms and cut baits prevail. Very Few Salmon reports in the area as anglers recover still around as temperatures return more. Best area has been Courtland to Walnut grove.
Discovery Bay Fishing Report
A few anglers are still scoring schoolie sized stripers in the Indian Creek side. Crankbaits are scoring bass on the main runway rock walls. Bass pushing the 4 to 6 mark are showing on occasion top Frogs . While out preparing for the upcoming Snag Proof Open in the Discovery Bay area, I was fishing sparse tules on the down current side of a point of the out going tide, when this 6.5lbs bass smacked a white Phat Frog. Wadda Jig bite on points is also decent!
West Delta Fishing Report
Anglers in search of stripers are finding the bite to be decent but still those who stick with it are getting small keepers on occasion from both boat and bank. From as far west as Honker Bay to the Broad Slough and Antioch pier persistent bait dunkers with Anchovies and Sardines ae finding fun action. Sturgeon success has come on the outgoing tide with pile worms, eel and roe. Broad Slough, Bouy 1 and Pittsburg PG&E are good bets. So far 4 Salmon reports from Antioch area. Bass Bite stays solid in the Break and surrounding cuts.

Bass pushing the 4 to 8 mark are showing on occasion. Many anglers are working through the heat and getting ready for two fun frog tournament events coming the end of the month. While the winds have hampered there search a bit those targeting shaded current areas. Speaking foe shade and current punching shade pockets in the junk. Fatsack Tackle punch shirts and Strike King Plastics are great under utilized choices. With the wind Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits also are getting bit. Contra Loma Fishing Report
Still big bass grabbing baits! Whopper Ploppers lead the charge. Try fishing for catfish at Channel Point, Loma Island or from a boat with nightcrawlers or chicken liver. Trout are biting on nightcrawlers at Channel Point, near the swim area, or from a boat. Try fishing for crappie or bluegill with jigs or worms at the boat ramp area, Loma Island or Channel Point area.
Los Vaqueros Fishing Report
Wind has been brutal at times. The Best bet is fishing with cut baits with all the hungry small stripers around. Trout are a bit slower but still caught in South Cove and Oak Point as well as Peninsula Cove. The baits of choice for shore anglers is garlic scented PowerBaits, nightcrawlers or Kastmasters. Trout average a pound and a half but range to over 5 lbs. Light tackle is important for catching trout with 4-6 pound test being plenty. With the continuing plants, trout fishing has been ok with some limits being caught from all around the reservoir.
