    Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started about 9:30 on the boat with a buddy from RI. Haven't used the boat in a while, so we had an interesting time. For starters, I forgot the plug! I realized and started looking for it but couldn't find it. It couldn't have gone too far...it's on a chain!! With finger in hole, I searched around until I found it wedged near a bulkhead. Turned the bilge on and off we go! We fished all the coves on north/west side of res with a couple of dinks. I went to try some of my medium sized minnows that I placed in the livewell. I had a dozen when I bought 'em, but when I opened the lid, there were only 4? Ok, where'd they go? I looked at the drain tube and saw there was enough room for them to squeeze through....right into the lake! Gonna have to fix that. Later in the afternoon we went down to the S-SW side of the lake where it's drying up. Found a little cove on the stable side where we could use the trolling motor. Fished there with some good hits on a pumpkinseed spinnerbait with double golds. A few minutes later I hooked into a real nice one. Here's where it gets funny. You know how when your line breaks, there's kind of a "tink" feeling on your rod? Well, I got a "fvvoop" feeling! I reeled the line in and saw the unmistakable "pig tail" end of my line. The knot came undone! Oops. Well, about 5 seconds later, this 4+lb bass came jumping out of the water about 2 feet from the boat, about 2.5' high, with this really nice pumpkinseed spinnerbait with double golds in its mouth! It was so sad and so funny. Too bad it didn't jump into the boat! Moral of the story....Chances are if your gonna forget the plug and lose your baitfish out the drain, your knot is gonna come undone on the only fish of the day! Cheers.

    Water Temp: 68-71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launced at about 8am. It was very overcast and quite cool. My big motor isn't running right so I was on the trolling motor all day. Headed south throwing topwater with no looks. Changed to a chartreuse shallow crankbait and picked up a 3.2, 1.7, 1.5, 1.9, and 1.4. Tried spinnerbaits, they only were getting hit, with no takers. Threw plastics as well, nothing. Decent day. Spoke with others who struck out, so I felt better about my day. First day out in over 3mos. regardless of my slow day, it was great just getting out!

    Water Temp: 77

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started as soon as they opened the gate. We started at the spillway and worked our way around with topwater lures and small weedless flukes. We caugt 4 fish in the first hour and then our pattern went bad. We switched to small weedless worms in 8-12ft. of water. Caught a couple more before we left at 10. No big fish, but all in all a good day.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Whatever you fish this time of year, make sure that it is weedless!!!

Report: On the water in my float tube at 6:15pm. Water was way down. Saw a VERY LARGE fish rising near the shore in the southern end of the lake. I threw everything I had at this fish for an hour, flukes, twin tail grub, buzzbait, Rapala chugger, shallow running crankbaits... nothing. I moved out along my favorite ledge around 7:30, throwing a Lunker City "Whipstick" (plasitc jerkbait, similar to a fluke). Fish were hitting the surface, but didn't want anything to do with my flukes (I caught one 5 inch fish on a 7.5 inch lure). I missed one fish on a buzzbait. Bass were hitting the surface everywhere chasing smaller baitfish. It is frustrating to see the fish actively feeding, but not hook into a couple. Now that hindsight is 20/20 I should have been using my 3 inch shad colored Bass Assassins, rather than the larger 7.5 inch Fluke.
    City: Mountain View

Tips: Shad imitations that will not hang up in the weeds. Maybe 3 inch Bass Assassins...

    Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started around 5:30 working the main lake wall from the submerged island with a 5" roboworm. Nothing til I got to the horseshoe and started cranking. Threw a shad wiggle wart and hit 2 fish that both went under a pound. Went over to the cherry cove and hit a nice 2lb fish cranking. By now it is getting close to 7:30 and I started throwing a splash-it. Picked up 3 fish all around 2lbs in the back of the main cove around the weeds. All of the fish I hit today came in the 5-10 ft range. Will get back into fishing Calero more, it has been a good 3 months. Good luck out there.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Cranking always does well for me, same with the top water. Oh ya, hit a fish on a spook too. Only went about a 1 1/2.

Report: Got a late start on Sunday, I was on the water by 9:30am. The fish were shut down due to the colder weather! I was throwing spinnerbaits and senkos for about 2hrs with only one fish. Then I started fishing a speed worm in about 8-13ft of water and managed to pick up a couple around the 2 1/2lb range. I was off the water by 12:30.
    City: san jose

Tips: Drop of the weed edges in about 8-13ft of water do to the low front.

Report: We fished from 7:30am-11am. We fished the south end only (My big motor won't run, so we were on the trolling motor all day). Had 3 fish up to 2lbs on poppers. topwater went away as fast as it was there. Started swimming grubs around the big clumps of grass in about 15 ft. of water and had three more. Must have had ten others hit the bait, but not take it, saw several fish following it. No big fish today. Also tried pitching into holes in the grass with big baits, no luck. pretty slow day. Where the heck are the big fish?

Report: fished from shore w/ a friend from 7:00am to 9:30am without much luck. fished the first dam first, then the rocks between the first and second dam with no luck. went back to the first dam on our way out and saw a father and son in float tubes catch a few. tried throwing a little of everything this morning and nothing seemed to work.
    City: fremont

Tips: saw some big fish jumping towards middle of lake early in the morning (pre-water skiers). seemed the guys in the float tubes were getting more action further off shore.
