Water Temp: 65-66
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I checked out beautiful Bullards Bar this morning - and found it to be quite lonely!! I only saw one other boat today - and they wern't even fishing! Started with one or two on topwater but that was pretty slow. I started drop-shotting a grape Robo worm and the spots were all over it!! I mean at least 40 in the boat in my half day there. Most were small but a few hit the 2 lb mark. I threw swimbaits a lot with no takers. Around noon I started fishing a #301 Senko with some side weights and caught slightly better quality fish. I worked water from 10 to 70 feet with different baits and decided that the big fish haven't tuned in the fall feed yet. It is raining hard in Yuba City tonight (.82 inches so far). That should get the bite going - I hope!
City: Yuba CityTips: I drop-shotted a Basstrix Flashtrix minnow also and only caught a few even thought bass were spitting up baitfish. They really wanted the worm. Morning Dawn w/chartreuse tail 6 inch Robo worm also worked too! I decided not to loose any crankbaits today on those great stumps!!!

Water Temp: 75-80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Spent three days on the water, August 17-19, fishing a two day club tournament and one practice day. Fishing was great for numbers. Spent most of our time up the North Yuba River arm, pretty much as far back as we could go. The lake is LOADED with bait fish right now, with bluegill and bass fry everywhere and balled up like crazy! We caught well over 200 fish in three days, but finding anything over 12 inches was difficult. Managed to squeak out a limit on my practice day. 4 small keepers on Day 1 and only 2 keepers on Day 2, but with a 3 pound kicker. Nobody could find anything over 12 inches, so my 3 pounder managed to take big fish and the tournament for me. I had good luck throwing a Spook in baby bass color when the clouds were present and you could see bass busting the surface. Switched to drop-shot pretty much exclusively after that. 4 and 6 inch Atomic Custom Baits in Autumn Rose, Bluegill and Desert Rose. Also roboworms in Margarita Mutilator and Morning Dawn were productive as well.
City: Reno, NVTips: Fish the walls after the no-wake zone in the north arm, find the shady pockets. I think the big fish will be moving up as soon as there is a little fall in the air. The bait fish are definitely there! Check out my blog at andrewmartinbass.blogspot.com

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took wifey to the Bar. Started out with reaction lures. Foul hooked a 1 pounder on a Rip Bait. Could not find the big ones. We fished the dam and the water falls. We eneded up downsizing to Grubs. We caught 7 between the two of us. Nothing over a pound and a half. Nice day all in all we traveled far up the river arm. We went so far that my temp gauge read as low as 54 degrees!! e considered trout fishing naaaaah.
City: W. SacTips: Met an angler with a $60,000 Ranger Boat and House boat at the docks. He stated that the big Hens are nesting in the Main Lake at 15 to 20 feet deep. He caught some on Senkos.

Report: Fishing by myself today. In the water around 8 am. Bluebird day, hardly a breath of wind with the occasional gusty breeze. Lake like glass most of day. Caught a few on tubes, a couple on Texas rigged worms. Wacky senko was the way to go. Lost count but caught between 30-40 fish. Most in the 11-13 inch range with a few bigguns thrown in.
City: RenoTips: Watch your line or you'll miss a lot of fish.

Water Temp: 47-49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Well, someone needs to post a report - and it takes a real man to do this one!!! My buddy Mike Sperbeck had been there recently with his grandchildren, using minnows hoping for a better bite and it worked. He suggested we go yesterday and bring along some minnows. I said "you want to bring...WHAT???? I have only used those three times in the last 25 or so years, all at Clear Lake with clients that insisted. Hey - one of them got an "8" and a "10"! So, off to Bullards with minnows and "normal" lures. At least - no umbrella rigs in the boat! And it even rained a bit. Well, what can I say. The minnows produced Mike's first ever 7 lb spotted bass (7 lbs 2 oz), a 6-1, and a 3-13, I caught some of the "dinks" of course - a 4-5 and a 4 even. That made a 25+ lb limit - the best limit of spots I have ever seen. We caught about 6 or 7 smaller ones. Spots were on spots from 20 to 60 feet deep in about 4 different areas. Lake is up a few feet - looks good.
City: Yuba CityTips: Well, there it is. We never saw the sun all day and water was flat most of the time. I would have thought the artificials bite would have been ok. I threw swimbaits some with no takers. We talked to some nice guys in a Ranger and they had one good fish early - I think on a jig - but struggled after. Saw 3 or 4 other boats and that was it.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Since no one is posting any reports I thought I would. The fishing was tough. Crystal clear skies and dead calm water didnt help. We saw lot of fish shallow but they were very skiddish and spooky. We caught 5 small ones in about 3 hrs. A few on topwater and a few on darthead. Only saw a handful of boats on a Sat afternoon and now I know why. Beautiful day but fishing was tough due to the perfect weather.

Report: Fished the north fork. On the water around 8:30. we fished mostly crank and drop shot. Between us we caught 14 fish mostly dinks. 4 fish were over 12 inches. The smaller fish put up more fight then the larger ones we caught that were 14 in. It was a fun day.
City: SacramentoTips: Fish close to the banks. If you want the large fish, who knows where

Water Temp: 61-63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hit the lake early, launched out of Dark Day, still no boat dock there...fished topwater for a solid 1.5hrs, Rio Ricos, Don Ivino Splash It, Vixens, Went to Spinner Baits, still no luck, my buddy got into a crank bait bite on a little Norman wobbler...all dinks, switch over to wacky rigged 4" Senkos. Started catching lots of fish, all dinks. The 2 biggest fish went 3 lbs and 5.2 lbs. Wind picked up around 9am, stayed in coves. Ended up with about 25 fish, all Spots. Only 2 keepers!
City: RosevilleTips: All the fish were around chunk rock, with submerged trees, 10-20 feet water depth. The big fish was caught on a Jig.

Water Temp: 52-52 main lake
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: 22lbs for 5. Broke my spot record three times over today in a club tourney. Two 5s and a solid brace of 3-4s. Fishing was slow, only got a dozen bites today, but the best four went 18lbs together.
City: Santa CruzTips: Extended, flooded points and island tops. Not wind = no reaction bite. Got most on a darterhead, and one of the 5s ate a slow rolled blade when the wind came up around 2. 20-40 feet deep for the bigguns

Report: Fished from 9:30am to 4pm and no bites. We fished points and bays. The lake was beautiful with all the water falls, just could not find fish. We tried drop shot, texes, jigs, crank bait, spinner bait even top water in first thing in the morning.
City: SacramentoTips: Even if you can not find fish the trip was worth it for just for the beauty of the lake

Report: Tried to get on the lake today but could only stay out for 45 minutes due to weather. May try again tomorrow as the rain is supposed to let up then get ugly again for another few days.
Tips: Fished Bullards several times but never saw it this rough. Ready for the rain to stop but it looks like it is going to get worse over the weekend. Didn't catch Sh!t today
