Report: Visalia Bass Tournament held on 9-11-10. Winner had over 11 lbs. A lot of small limits caught but getting a limit was not assured by any means. A 13" black bass was hard to come by for some teams. The fish could be caught almost anywhere and pretty shallow as well. This would be a great place to take the kids. They could catch a lot of small bass right now. I haven't fished a lake this year that allows you to catch more fish. I have fished a lot of lakes.

Report: Boy it's been some time since I have fished here. The plan was to chase Striper boils but that did not happen. Well after two hours I decided to fish for Bass.It was pretty good I ended up with 7 fish 4 Smallmouth and 3 Largemouth. Two of the Smallmouth were 3lbs the other two about 2lbs.The largemouth about 1.5lb's.All cought on plastics and I think if you were to target the Bass it may be pretty darn good.I was a little disappointed in the Lake level thought it would be higher.

      Water Temp: 71.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went back today after a disappointing day yesterday. Determined to find out what or where the bite went. Totally different day. Jigs all day today with 11 nice keepers in the boat two of which went in the 5 range. Spent most of the time near Vasquez area hitting the rock walls with a jig in 15-25 foot of water with most hits coming in that 15 foot range up close to the walls.

Nothing at all in the marina area or Whittenburg. wind came up around 11ish and it pulled several boats off the main lake looking for shelter, or on the trailer.
      City: SM

Tips: 1/4oz jigs with a DT hula grub trailer. Stay in the green colors. Blues were not working nor was craw colors.

Trying out some new Falcon Micro Giude rods and a few new baits. Hit on three nice 5+ ladies with one bustin off near the trolling motor having the Falcon in half trying to hose this ine in. Figured at least 8-10 pounder.. Thats fishin -- Cant score on all of them.. Wind came up about noonish -- Headed home.

      Water Temp: 78 degrees

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Myself and a friend went out about 7:00am and caught a decent amount of crappie. Then I began bass fishing used a senko texas rigged in shallow area near shore and caught a 17" largemouth and a couple small throw backs. Decided to move towards the back channel and noticed a lot of bass jumping went to some spook jr.'s and caught a couple more throw backs. Hit a channel towards the back right and wacky wormed for awhile and only got one small throw back. Decided to hit the dam before we left and used some rapala original cranks and I landed a 18 and 1/4" on my 3rd cast by a rock pile. That was my limit of two over 15" my buddy, wanted to go back crappie fishing and caught a couple more and we left, black and green tube worked well for the crappie. Over all was a good trip, went on a weekday so not too many people out there. Will be back soon to try again, fishing report says don't waste your time, but I always give it a try and usually still have luck. Warning though is water is very low so be careful and aware.
      City: Madera

Tips: poppers in the morning, and senkos texas rigged when it warm up. If the wind picks up go near the dam and try some deep diver crank.

Lock-jawed for the most part. Couln't get anything to work. 2 fish on rattle trap, one on a white hula grug. Thats it! Was so bad, I couldnt even score a small one at the dam! Thats bad.

Report: The official lake record for smallmouth is right around 3 lbs. I believe. I have personally caught a half dozen bigger, probably up to about 4 lbs, and have seen several that I'm sure were over 5. for whatever reason, nobody ever submits them.

Report: Launched at 6:30. Headed for the narrows. Tried everything I had but no action. Warmed up to about 85 so I headed back toward the damn. A couple small dunky bass tards.lol Switched to drifting weightless night crawlers. Got about 6 more small bass and loaded out about 5 and headed back to my stabbin cabin. Tried Zarra Spooks for two hours in A.M. with not even a roll.

Tips: Best tip I have is don't fish near me. There will be no fish within 5 miles.

Report: Reports have that DFG was out looking at the Scum on the lake as it was different from before and they were showing concern. Dont know where it went from there...

Most of the algae was pretty heavy across from Vasquez today, and fairly thick in some areas. Don't know what 'type' it is but it is sure hard to wash off the boat at days end. Spent a lot of extra time getting clear water on my rag at the fish clean station to wipe off the scum and wash off my reels and line.. Nasty stuff!

Report: Still alot of algea on the top until the wind blows it off. Scummy stuff - Gets all over the hull and your lie.

Headed to a cove across from Strawberry to plop a new top water. Bang! 2nd cast and hit a really nice smallie in the 2-1/3 pound range. Tossed it around some more with one small large taking it so moved off. To the back by the old dock and tossed it again. Picked up three more small larges so pulled out a crank. One keeper near vasquez but that was it. Moved to the walls North West of Vasquez and worked my favorite jig. Three nice lagre keepers and two smallie keepers. Time to head out. Good day.

Tips: Kralens Rock Hopper and CLU's ZG Watermelon scores again. Love these jigs.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Bass from 12 to 15 inches long can be caught here in depths of 5 to 20 feet on jigs, baby brushogs, wacky style senko's. Top water baits are also working rico's and buzzbaits early morning or late evening. Traffic here is also light during the week.
      City: madera ca

Tips: Small finesse jigs with 4" twin tail grubs as your trailers are my first choice here. Bass are holding in coves around rock piles on brush piles and on flats and around trees.
