Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A.B.A. had a bass tourment on saturday,4-1. Only 7 boats showed up, the weather conditions were one of the main concerns of the tournment with the wind blowing hard and about 2-3 foot waves things were pretty slow with only 2 bass being caught in the tourny. Bill Heinz caught a 8.66 lbs
bass and won. Good job Bill. I fished but not in the tourney and caught 3 bass that day for for about 51/2 to 6 lbs , that was saturday.
Now on sunday it was a little differt. Wind did not blow near as hard saw a couple of friends on the water after I had caught my 9lb 7 3/4 oz. bass
you know just had to show it off.
City: lake isabella , caTips: the fish are trying to get up on bed, when the weather premits. Fish in 4-8 ft range. Jigs and spinner baits are the way to go, atleast so far

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a club event on 8-19 /8-21 2005. Fishing was very tough. Prior reports only 1-2 weeks back from tackle shops, friends, etc. said the bite was decent on big worms and cranks. Things definately changed with the full moon and a cooling weather system passing through. Day time temps were 98 degrees with no wind until 2pm each day.
An algea bloom was in full force that made the water look like pea soup. Lots of dead birds, trout, and dying shad sprinkled the lake surface.
Fellow club members picked off a fish here and there. Obviously there was a ton of shad in the lake. Catfish were very active eating the dying shad on the surface.
1st and 2nd place fish were taken from Sickle Point and in the saddle (between main land and the visiable island) mostly on dropshot baby bass roboworms. Super slow presentation. A few fish were caught on medium diving 2-4 ft. depth white cranks.
City: RSM, CATips: Bring lots of lead mojo dropshot weights and sunscreen. Use lighter weights to keep from getting hung up as much.

Report: I have been in the worst fishing slump in my life but yesterday it ended with a nice 7 LBS bass off lime cove useing crankbait.
City: BakersfiledTips: Water has came up so much it opened up some good fishing areas. Try using deep diving crank and bounce off bottom and over the rocks!! I had a few chase it up to the boat so thats why I stayed with the crankbait.

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had my best day ever. It was one of those foggy -hazy mornings. The wind was hard out of the north. It was blowing from Kernville toward the dam. That created a calm spot on the east side of Rocky Point. First cast with a 3/4oz FF Shad a 4 pounder missed it right at the boat. Then all hell broke loose. In the next 45 minutes, in a strech less than 50 yards of shore line I caught (in order) a 6.11 3.8 3.11 9.3 and a 5.0 By that time it had gotten light and they went deep. All fish were releasd. Later I ran into my buddy Mark Abler just as he was netting a beautiful 5.3 pound smallmouth. Thats got to be the lake record as one is not officially listed.
(look in photos for 'Isabella Smallmouth')
City: KernvilleTips: I went 4 trips without a fish, crankin my but off. Then look what happened.

City: BakersfieldTips: Use light line and light action because the bite is LIGHT!

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started crankin the rip-rap on engineer point at day break. 1 keeper and 1 short. Ran to Orricks and headed north crankin the edge of the canal. no takers. Went over to rocky, still in the shade, and worked a rock pile with a t-rigged zoom u-tale in re-bug. nothing. Slowed way down with the t-rig and jig. Lake was dead flat. Beautiful morning. Headed toward camp 9 slowly casting to the largest trees. bam 5.4 on the worm. too many shore fisherman. Went out in the middle and threw a sb in the trees. 1 short. went home at 11am.
City: KernvilleTips: The main launch ramp is in bad shape. the dock is completely out of the water. You can launch but nowhere to tie the boat up while you park. I'm going to try the launch ramp over by Reds marina next time.
There is a giant rock just under the surface about 20 yds off shore....in front of the mobile home....toward camp nine.
