Although I used mostly lizards and worms, the big ish came on a Castaic Shad.

Report: Hit the back ponds with Texas Rigs on the cover. I Caught one 12"er o o a red and white power grub. My dad caught a 14"er o a Berkeley worm called "pumpkin seed". Both ish hit early in the morning between 6:30 and 7am about 2-4 eet rom the shore. Several bites throughout the morning. Ater 8am, no more activity with bass.(In case anyone cares) The ollowing week, a riend o mine heard that some big catish have been caught in the main reservoir. We went out at 8:00pm. The water was totally calm and no wind.....Lots o bass hitting the surace. We dropped a lantern in the water and attracted zillions o minnows. Couldn't snag a bass with buzz bait....but the catish started hitting between 9-10pm on chicken livers and resh tiger prawns. Pulled in two 15"ers and the rest went back.
City: Redwood CityTips: In the back ponds used weedless lures in a Texas rig. Lots o weeds, logs and cover. All o our bites were about 2' rom shore and early in the morning. I have heard that crawdads are native to the lake/ponds and that some big bass are being pulled out using this bait...I will try that next!

Report: Tubed the backlakes again with a buddy who likes to reer to himsel as "Legend"...(Legend in his own mind, maybe.) Guess what, "Legend" got skunked. I managed to catch 13, biggest went 2.11 on the scale. Used topwater early (Pop-R & Tournament Frog), plastics ater the sun came up. Considering I went the day beore and only caught one, it was a great day.
City: LivermoreTips: Winter will be here beore you know it. Get out while you can...

Report: My suggestion to you is stay at home, but i you must go try small lures and work them slow and Hula pop-r's don't work so don't try them. October 10 is the second annual SCRUB 2 tournament. SLURP!!!!
City: PleasantonTips: Stay home!

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went tubing during the evening hours on the main back pond. All I used was a white Tournament Frog, using the old twitch-and-pause method accros the top o the "cheese". In 4 hours I had nearly 10 blowups, but only managed to land one...a 3 lber. The blowups are NOT rom small ish so it really gets the old hear pumping!
City: LivermoreTips: Take a black permanent marker and color some spots on the belly o the rog. The water will smear the spots and create a bass-tempting pattern. Also, stu a split shot or two in the hollow body to add weight (and noise). The added weight will make the rog more noticable on top o the weeds, plus makes the lure earier or the bass to hit...(instead o having the rog go lying into the air as it gets hit)
