Awesome! Been waiting for a picture for some time now. Also during that week on another operation a possable world record Butterfly Peacock was also caught-17lbs. Those are true Donkeys. Every bass angler needs to go down there one time at least to see the ultimate in true bassfishing. Congrats to that dude. Wow. Rick G.

Biggest 3 bar I have seen. When I went down the cap on the Discovery said there were reports of locals having caught em over 30 # and he had a 26 # on his cabin wall.. That is a huge male in that pic and I am certainly not trying to discredit. The fish in my avatar is an 18 and I know I lost a couple over 20 # on 80 # power pro. I was told by our cap they are actually cichlids and they named them peacock bass as a marketing tactic for us anglers.

I spent about $7000.00 on that trip and it was worth every penny. If I could afford it I would spend a month on the Rio Negro every year. If you can afford to do it you will not be disappointed. Congratulations to the lucky angler that caught it, they fight so hard it must have been an impressive fight.
Peace

That's one giant mean Peacock fer sure! Whether it's really a Spec or not, a huge congrats goes out to Mr. Gassman fer that catch! I know first hand from raw knuckles and worn out arms what 18 pounders can do to ya all week long, a 28 musta been a blast!

OBTW, did you guys know, one of our own is a record Peacock bass holder! Dec. 10, 2002–26 lb. Junior–Greg Gutierrez Jr.

We can make that happen. Call 1-800-GOTA-FISH and tell them you read about it here.
