Work begins on the largest U.S. dam removal project

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The largest dam removal project in United States history is underway along the California-Oregon border — a process that won't conclude until the end of next year with the help of heavy machinery and explosives.

What You Need To Know
Crews have mostly dismantled the first of four dams along the Klamath River near the California-Oregon border, and the other three are expected to come down by the end of next year
Once the dams are gone, crews will work to replant billions of seeds from native plants
Native American tribes spent years gathering seeds by hand and officials say the goal is to give native plants an advantage over invasive species such as starthistle
The removal project will cost about $500 million and is opposed by some homeowners near the lakes that will be drained

So, they're removing Dams that generate Electricity so that the Salmon can go up stream and spawn. OK !! Now am I wrong that California has a mandate that all new car sales in 2035 are to be Electric ???l AND, we don't have enough power plants to supply to the Grid now, much less in another 22 yrs...........and there aren't any NEW power plants to be built in the next few years that I've heard of !!! WTF !!!!!

Indigenous Indian tribes in NorCal have a lot of leverage on California politics. They will not+allow Cal Fire or any other fire fighter on US Forest land without a guide to prevent entering ancestral land or trails. No mechanized equipment can be used to fight fires, the equipment is packed in using mules, no gas powered chain saws etc. No wonder why fires burn for weeks!
Dams are hated by Cal Trout and the Indian tribes so they must go. California will not allow construction new dams and rising the dam height on existing dams to increase precious water supply is nearly impossible. Shasta dam has been in the works for decades to rise it 18’...good luck with that. The last dam to get higher was San Vicente in SoCal, it took 25 years.

The same people who took advantage of a virus pushing a dangerous vaccine as the ONLY way to recover. Question that and loose your job be canceled and accused of taking a horse medicine
The same people who forced a muzzle on your face to silence you
The same people who didn’t let you visit sick dying family members including your Significant other
Let them die alone because you might catch a cold
The same people who told you about a vaccine that would prevent the spread of a virus (take this shot and you can not pass a virus to others)
The same people who told you that you can not catch covid if you are vaccinated mean while we all know many vaccinated who became sick sometimes 3 and 4 times
The same people who tell you going to electric vehicles will prevent climate change
The same people who are banning small engines including critical generators
The same people who are against clean burning natural gas
The people who want sky rocketing energy prices to control you
The people who wave to tax you by the mile. The people who want 15 minute cities. (Look up 15 minute city)
They want to limit your freedom to travel
The same people who took the stand up urinals out of the boys room in our schools and replaced them with feminine hygiene products and condoms
The same people who took the 10 commandments off our court room walls
The same people who stopped pledging the flag in the classroom
The same people let men in woman’s sports
The same people who want no border

They chant no borders no wall sanctuary for all

I can keep going but I think you know these low down anti family anti American scum bags

Thank you JV.
I didn't have the energy to write all that but that's what I would have said.
I would also add the one's persecuting Trump while turning a blind eye to the crooked Biden family.

JV you can always move out of Ca. Because nothing is going to change you do not have a voice in these matters. If you want to change things then throw your hat in toilet and run for office. It only takes money. You people whin about everything but you do nothing about it.

So if it's the truth why isn't this forum flood with comments on this subject why nobody give a chit that's why. It a done deal the dams are come down. And yes it the same people that are going keep doing it. The tunnel is next then you'll have something else to complain about. Oh wait higher gas prices can't leave that one out.

You can't change perfection.

You could change your delivery on how saying CA is so screwed up and there is nothing we can do about it. You came off pretty bad even though I believe we're all pretty much on the same page besides one guy and a handful of lurkers.
There might be a way for change but it won't be conventional.

The majority of people in CA are looking to move out. Number one reason is it’s difficult to afford

IMHO that's the reason people state to be polite or avoid a lengthy discussion/argument. Affordability was so far down the list for us it wasn't on it. We could have easily afforded to stay. As bad as I thought it was in CA, it took leaving to really see how bad it was and it has only gotten worse. Born and raised in Socal, left after HS for about 8 years and moved to NorCal for 30+ years.

Unfortunately, it will get worse before it gets better. The violent crime will continue to grow and that will effect everyone regardless of where they live in the state. Ironic, but the more the state spends on the "homeless" the more "homeless" it gets.
