I've got the BCR875 (17 lb.) carolina rig rod and like it except for it's to heavey of a rod for DVL and Perris where I fish light line. I'd love to trade it for the BCR874 (14 lb). So currently I am using a MBR844 GLX or an MBR843 GLX with 12/6 and 10/5 pound test respetively.
When I was using the BCR875 and a mojo rockhopper weight I always got the weight back. Took me over a year before I lost one. With the 10 pond line I've been losing the weight more often.

I've found that the crank bait rod that loomis makes also does a pretty good job with the light carolina rigs. Mind you, you wouldn't want to throw the c-rig witha 1 ounce weight, but for finesse carolina rigging with a half ounce or lighter weight, they work great.

That would be my pick also Robert, gl3-902 Loomis. That is what Kyle and I both use. Mark Higashi @ Performance tackle in Los Alamitos makes a pretty good C-rig rod also. Rick G.

Hey Root, if Rick and Kyle are telling you to fish a GL3 MBR902 then you better listen. They know how to get it done.
Hey Kyle and Rick what pound test do you usually use on the main line with that rod?

This is very cool guys. I was looking at either the 844 or the 843 IMX but you guys are also saying GL3 MBR902 (its cheaper) I'll have to look at 902.
