Re: so what's in your in-boat toolkit?
Thats a good question a better one would be "Whats in your emergency safty kit ? "I think thats something alot of boaters in general dont think about. Bad weather or boat cant start and cant get back in ?

4 brown & 4 black 1/2 jigs
2 bottles of pork
First aid kit(only used for the partner's that don't bring me coffee and lunch right now!) HAR!
Re: so what's in your in-boat toolkit?
All of the above plus
Epoxy/Aluminun putty stick.
Comes in a round plastic tube (kinda like a cigar tube), cut off how much you need, knead it, and apply above or below water.
Repairs fiberglass, metal, wood, plastic, etc. You can repair a prop, seal a hole in the hull, patch a lower unit, etc. etc. Can be sanded, drilled, etc.
I have never had to use it, but I keep it in the emergency kit for peace of mind. (replace with a fresh stick every couple years, runs about 9 to 10 bucks a tube).
I think I got my last tube at fishermens warehouse, but you can get it on the web and I believe west marine has some as well.
LOL... That reminds me... time to get a new tube... LOL

You got that right ringer, a friend of mine carries enough stuff to do an overhaul on the water.
But in reality all I carry is the phone, jumpers, small first aide kit, and a leatherman.
Almost forgot my emergerncy rations, two cans of vienna sausages.

Most of the above.
Don't forget some spare bulbs for you running lights, or you're watching everyone else blast off before you.
I have a portable soldering iron as well.

Rusty pliers that won't open, Rusty screw drivers that broke, Rusty knife that the blade won't come out of and a pile of rust. Thank you for the reminder, Mike. Time to fix it.

Re: so what's in your in-boat toolkit?
I carry a Leatherman which has a bunch of neat drivers, a file, pliers, etc. and a Swiss army knife so I am ready for any Mc Giverisms that might pop up.
Also credit card, and two phones different server.
Jumper cables, rope lengths, and one of those neato handles to use in case my troller cables break. Push pole and duckfoot.
Extra boat key.
The rest of my tools/diagnostic gear is in my truck, if I can make it back.
One cool thing to have, (in the truck) is extra Motorguide isolators or deck mount molys. If you have those, bring and extra drill driver to mount them.

(Spare truck key in pocket, hand that one to partner launching you.)

Some small tools, Expoxy, Plugs --I even had a small one that saved one of our outing's when the battery fell and broke the discharge side plastic collar on the areator pump..... A small plug fit perfectly in there. Did not know it was broke untill my wife heard the water comming in. Put the plug into the pump and we were good to go.
Manual blow horns/whistle .... and a manual bilge pump as well are two important things that do not take up room.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Re: so what's in your in-boat toolkit?
Glad to see I am not the only one that carries way too much stuff in his toolbox. I carry one in the truck and one in the boat.
both have all the necessary tools, wrenchs, hammers, etc.
Dewalt Screwgun
Spare props
Spare Trolling Motor
Spare battery charger
3 way splitter for extension cord
100 foot xtension cord
wheel chocks
Boat carries
extra pumps (livewell and bilge)
extra Lowrance Transducer
bulbs, electric connectors, zip ties of all sizes, spare engine mounting and trolling motor bolts, trolling motor switch, Triton toggle switches, spare running lights front and back. spare prop, prop wrench, hub, trolling motor prop, electric tester, extra oil, extreme reel lube and extreme gun lube.
wrenchs, sockets, hacksaw, hammer, battery straps,
somehow I have gained the reputation of having what ever you need to fix your boat......ask Fred Roumbanis, Zack Thompson, Roy Hawk, Kevin Davis, Byron Velvick.......the list is long.
Might never need it but if you do it is great to have. For less than a swimbait rod you can go to Home Depot and get your tool box prepaired for anything.
Good Question........might make a good radio segment someday

Extra T Motor Pins
Duct Tape
Electrical Tape
Jumper Cables
Cable Ties
Extra Bilge/livewell pump
Spare Prop
Spare T Motor Prop
Spare truck key
First Aid Kit
Sanitary wipes (my wife fishes too)
Then in the truck:
Floor Jack (an absolute must for changing a trailer flat)
Spare T motor (on really long runs I put it in the boat)
Cordless Drill
Spare boat keys
Smitty
Then add:
