I have two of the Crankin' Sticks, love them both. I have two Rick Clunn Series rods, love them too. I don't have any reels though. If your looking for rods for reaction baits, there's not as much need for the sensitivity. So for those type rods, I have gone with cheaper ones. The Rick Clunn series I have are for Topwater/Rippin, and Carolina/Froggin. They have top quality SiC Guides on them, and great quick tips. I have been very pleased with them. The Crankin' Sticks have great actions also, perfect for Crankbaits.

I use the "extreme" bait casters and I like the 6:3to1 models. For the money I have been pleased with the performance over the Curados. Wait until they sale for $50 and you can buy 3 instead of 1 of your favorite Shimano Curado's with the same or like performance. Thje rods are fine for reaction baits if you want to spend $99 and get the combo. I also like having spare rods if my Loomis or St. Croix go down before I can get a replacement.
Just my experienced opinion,

I've been using eight Tourney Specials and four Crankin' Sticks for the last several years. They cast very well, handle fish with no problems, including a 15 lb. largemouth (on a 6'6" MH Tourney Special casting rod). No breakages, no lost guides, no wrappings coming loose...no problems at all.
I made a swim-bait rod out of a 7 1/2 foot Tourney Special flipping rod by cutting a foot off the tip and installing a new tip-top. It handles medium-size swim-baits, up to four ounces, very well, and two weeks ago easily subdued an 8 lb. bass.
The newer Tourney Specials made of IM7 graphite are an especially good value at $29.95. The Crankin' Sticks at $39.95 are also superb crankbait rods.
I have no experience with the BPS reels, but since they're made by a major reel manufacturer, I would imagine they are very good.

Almost all of my rods are the tourney special, and i love them. I use them for cranking to blades to ripping and to flipping. i really like the big power handle so your hands don't get as tired as much at the end of the day.

I haven't tried the reels but do carry 2 crankin sticks for top water and some time a muskie rod. For the money they do great. When the crankin sticks go on sale again I'll buy a couple more.
Re: what do u think about those bass pro shops rods and reel
I guess I'm the only one who has had nothing but problems with my bps rods? I purchased four cranking sticks that all currently spend their time at the bottom of my rod locker. All except for one I have had the inner portion of the tip eye fall off and the way that the grip is designed does nothing but dig into my palm making it very uncomfortable to work through heavy cover. I like the rod action but the handle design and quality of line guides make me wish I would of just purchased one more higher end rod.

the rods have worked out very well and the baitcasters have worked out also for the price. But I don't like their spinning reels- I stick to the Shimano Symetres. The good news is that if you break a rod, Basspro will normally replace it. You just have to ship the broken rod to them.
I have been using Bass Pro and Cabelas rods exclusively for nearly 15 years. All good and they replaced two or three broken rods over the years. I htink, normal wear and tear led to the breakage. I beat up my tackle pretty good.
But they keep records of how much you spend there and are good to the loyal customers.
You can't beat "buy two and get one for free" deals. If you can wait, wait for the sales.
Incidentally, I am only speaking of there higher end rods like the extreme XPS. they are on sale now for 69.99.

I replaced a couple of my St Croix "Glass" Rods with a couple of the 7' MH Crankin Sticks for a couple years ago. They work great for Buzzbaits and Spinnerbaits.
