I have a bunch of copolymer line (Flourocarbon Coated) as well as some mono that I keep stored inside the house in a plastic tote. Some of the line is a few years old now. Should I toss it and start over or should I still use it. It is stored away from heat and sun light. Does age cause the line lose its qualities?
Thanks,
Mike

If your FUN fishing it's ok. If you are fishing for $ or that DD / fish of a lift time then NO it's not worth the $15 u save

Kept in cool, dark storage area the mono or co-polymer line should be OK. Sunlight (UV), Ozone and thermal cycling tends to weaken spooled monofilament lines.
Tie a few knots and test the knot strength. Use a line conditioner when you spool the reels; KVD or TangleFree are both good products.

Ive been using some Big Game that is 8 years old and had no problem at all. I wont use it in a tourney, but thats because Ill use floro instead.
I also have some Yozuri Hybrid that is the same age and I will use that in a tourney.
