What color frog is best on the Delta?

Post by Skunkedagain »

Just as the Subject states, I was wondering what the best color frog to throw on the Delta would be?

The NUMBER one color frog and brand that I throw is a Snag Proof Sparrow frog in the Bobby's perfect model. The only reason I mention the brand is because they are the only ones that make the sparrow color to my likings. I belive R2S or possibly Spro make one that Some what resembles a bird but I dont like the way they look. Also Reaction Innovations makes a bird color but again its just not for me. I also like to throw white but 95% of the time that Sparrow color will be on my topwater rod.

Another color Im sure you will see is the Cicida. Which is also made by Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect model.

I hope this helps!!

Tight Lines,
Jason

P.S. I am NOT on the SP pro-staf

Does color even matter? The bass can't see the dang thing going across the mat anyway.

Let me ask you this.......Why do we spend money on different colored frogs when the fish can't see the tops of them anyway? Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

The best all around color for me is the original snag proof frog pro model in the chaw color. other than that the only two colors you need is white and black.

white with some mod legs for fast open water, old SP Plum the one with the yellow in the legs for weeds and hydrilla and for mats dont matter I cut the legs short and shove some glass up its hiney...

Now the HT is a different story the Black and yellow swirl or grey ghost is the shizzna... shhh put a 1/8 or 1/16 bullet weight in front of it.. fish it like a rip bait.. or buzz bait depending where the fishies are..... 8)

Like Mike said Black or white, of the 2 black is my confidence bait in any water color. The fish will let you know from one day to another.

White and black are absolutely staples no matter where you are throwing a frog, but greens also have a place in my arsenal. Especially on the delta during the begining of frog season. Cicada, snag proof?

I throw two most often, the Snag Proof Tournament frog in Shamu( Black & white) and the Bobby's Perfect in Cicada. I've got all the colors in my frog box, but these two, have proven to me to catch all the time.

Me too, but I have friends that swear by them! I have problems walking the Perfect frog, perhaps I am using the wrong rod?

Ash -- Are you trimming the leggs shorter ?

A split ring will even make it walk easier.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Whatever color I can see best that day. I hate having one come rocketing back at me on the hookset cuz it was sitting 6 " to the left of where I last saw it. so usually white or black.[/i]

I trim the legs, I think I will add the split ring to them and see how that works out. If G-man doesnt want to spill da beans I will pay his teen $10.00 to saw off his frogs show them to me and tie on my R2Sea's when G-man's not lookin

Thanks

Also, line weight affects the way the frog 'walks' ... too heavy a line will prevent frog from moving side to side. Barrack has said that he uses 50# braid ... not 65, no 80. But 50 ....

Really?

OK, for two reasons. One, throwing the thing in the slop, and the frog dissappears. The color makes a difference for YOU to see. Two ... hmmm ... maybe you're not throwing the frog in the ... DIFFERENT places. Think outside the box ...
