Welcome CBF Inland Empire Region

Post by scottsweet »

Hi All,

I am pleased to announce that the California Bass Federation has officially voted in a new Inland Empire Region as Region 8 for the 2009 season. We are all very excited to have Mike Nemic as the TD and Dave Pauley as the Regional Director for this new region. Both will be working with CBF staff to get their region up and rocking and rollin for all you out there!

I would like to thank Ed Cazares and Kirk McIntire for their support and assistance to pull this region together. Without their help and persistence, we would still be talking about it!

Best of luck for 2009 and we all look forward to seeing you fishing the CBF...your only way to reach the a $100,000 Living the Dream package! Check out www.bassfederation.com to learn how YOU could be living the dream for 2009!

WHOO WHOOOOO!!!! Congratulations!

Good to have a "local" Region so that I don't have to drive an hour and a half anymore, and can get a few minutes more shuteye before stinking up the place!

Look forward to seeing the schedule that Mike and company put together - congratulations Mike, I'm sure you'll do well!

Why would Hodges be considered Inland Empire? Isn't that lake in the SD hood? Dont forget about the Pudd if you're going to throw in Hodges...

If its gonna be an inland empire region...

Then the lakes need to be Silverwood, Perris, DVL and maybe Pudingstone thats IT!! Anything east of Perris, west of Puddingstone, North of Silverwood and South of DVL is NOT the inland Empire.

Errr... uhh...

maybe not Hodges.... But the Pudd, yes.

I guess it all depends on what’s available at the Jamboree and how much it costs to hold an event at the lake. Between county, state, DFG fees and the specialized insurance, its becoming very cost prohibitive just to put on a derby. I almost forgot the light stick fees, conservation fee, close it fee.

Has there been any thought about a central coast region?

I think this will work out. There are alot of good anglers in the SGV and IE. I think this region will attract some good numbers, maybe even pull some from OC...

Hodges will be considered. It is off the 15 and yes it is in S.D. but very close to Temecula.
If you think you want to run the region then you can decide where the tournaments will be.
Perris, Silverwood, The Pud, D.V.L. as well as Elsinore will be thought about.
The t.d. will make the final choices on tournament dates and lakes.
Besides most of you Pro's will not be fishing the Fed. anyway.

What the CBF needs is a REAL central coast region......This region would have all three species to fish for too.... and if there is a concern about(do I dare say it) a qwaga (whatever) mussel keeping you from fishing the central coast you better check again...Cause I know for a fact that they are not denying anyone entry. ....your boat might get a bit of a sponge(bob) bath though....

We need a CBF region on the central coast!

One other question (not to take away from the thread or anything)......

Wouldn't the CBF increase participation in each Region if they made The State Classic a "No entry fee" event? I really think it would make "Qualifying for it" a lot bigger event.

I really like the TBF, and I think it gives an Angler the best format to learn and grow in the sport. But, with the way gas prices are going, I would have to believe that the numbers of guys willing to tavel great distances to fish events are going to decrease in the not-so-distant future. Bass Orgs. are going to have to come up with some incentives to keep those loyal anglers coming back.

Just thinking.....

I will call ya today Scott.....

Congratulations Mike and Dave;

Talk about this new region here in our neck of the woods is just what the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire anglers needed.

I will look forward to the announcment of the new schedule as soon as possible. Thanks for your hard work and determination!

Later; Big Ed!
