S Waver Rod?
S Waver Rod?
Does anyone know of a good budget rod to throw the 168 S waver?
Re: S Waver Rod?
Powell Inferno 765
Dobyns Fury 765
Dobyns fury 734 or 735
I had the Powell Max 765 and now the Max 3D but the inferno is the budget version. I think all these price at $110-$120. I’ve got 1 each of the fury’s new and 1 each used. 70$ used or 85$ new. Let me know if you’re interested. I was going to list a bunch of poles this weekend.

Re: S Waver Rod?
I throw mine on my Frog rod, which is currently a Fenwick HMX 7' Heavy Action Rod. If i was going to buy a rod for it I would agree with the 765 a longer rod in 5 power is a good choice something you can get those long casts and has some bend in it ie doesnt flat shutdown after the tip action. I think that Fury for 70$ is a good get

Re: S Waver Rod?
S-Waver 168 is a glide bait treble hook lure, Dobyns FR795 SB is a good choice, or Irod IRG783 SB, 200 size then go up to FR806 SB. Swimbait rods are moderate fast action for better hook sets.

Alright, thanks for the help. I might go with the Dobyns 795sb rod
Re: S Waver Rod?
What size and type of line do most throw the Swaver on?
Re: S Waver Rod?
The 168 I’ll use 30-40# braid to 16-20# floro or mono leader for me or 16# floro when the water is really clear.jg wrote:What size and type of line do most throw the Swaver on?
The 200 I like 40-50# braid to 20# leader.
