Forrest L. Wood Developer of Modern Bass Boat Dies at 87
"Peacefully, with his family by his side, Forrest L. Wood of Flippin passed away on Jan. 25, 2020 in his 87th year," Keith Daffron, Wood's oldest grandson, posted on Facebook. "The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the team at Baxter Regional Medical Center and the many friends who have provided comfort during this difficult time."
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced shortly, the family said.
The developer of the modern bass boat
Wood began his outdoors career as a fishing guide on numerous lakes and rivers in Arkansas while maintaining a construction business and a cattle farm. Wood and his wife, Nina, founded Ranger Boats in 1968 in Flippin, with Wood building his first six boats behind a service station downtown.

First we lose Jerry McGinnis, now Forrest Wood.
I bet they are fishing together on some great river up above, each taking turn guiding the other.
