Ok to use auto fuel injector cleaner in a 2 stroke?
I have a 2 stroke Johnson 175 Faststrike outboard and have always used OMC products to keep it running clean. Costco is selling a 6 pack of Chevron Pro-Gard for $10.00 and I was wondering if I can use it in my outboard. I appreciate any response!

Isn't your motor carburated?
Carb cleaner is cheap at Kragen.

If my memory serves me right, it says on the label that it is not recommended for 2 strokes. I wanted to use it as well.
I was at Wally's a few weeks ago and they had some of the same type stuff made for Lucas, for a dollar a bottle. I was wondering if it was alright to use. Looks and just about smells the same as Ring Free.
I kind of figured I'd get answers all over the place, so I'll just use it in my trucks.

I had to come back...I know...

I wouldn't do it.
Seafoam works. Been using it for awhile now. Cleans the inside of the prop pretty well so I'm assuming it does the same on the inside.

Don't mix carb/injector cleaners in gasoline used in a 2 stroke.
Use a direct spray cleaner and spray into the carbs/injectors while the engine is running on the trailer, with water running through to cool the engine. Change out the spark plugs after cleaning. Do this once a year with the older engine and you shouldn't have any problems.
