Trolling motor plug wiring
Trolling motor plug wiring
I have a Motorguide Pro 70 trolling motor 24 volt. At the front plug there are 4 post A+, A-, B+, & B-. I have 2 wires. Where do the two wires attach? I'm lost.

Lar- If your batteries are wired up in Series ( Jumpered at the battery's from the back) - you only need one Pos and one Neg at the front.
Get a voltage meter and stick the probes into either one of your Pos (there are two Pos on the female side of the plug) to your Neg for your 3 prong plug at the front to see witch one is getting the voltage.... (you should be reading 24v) ~~ Then wire your plug from your TM on the same two of three prongs. (one Pos ~ one Neg ~ and one blank)
You only need 2 wires at your plug - as long as as your main wire to the front- is gauge enoufgh to carry the load.
I have an unopened/never used MG 50amp re-setable in-line breaker from the battery lead - out of my old duck boat that had a MG84 Digital Saltwater TM on it. If you need it..... And if I can still find it.... Give me a call Bro.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
