Trolling motor foot pedal problem...

Well took the boat out only to discover I cannot turn right with the trolling motor... It will go left but when I turn the pedal to the right nothing. I am going to take it apart tomorrow but is there anything I should keep in mind? Anyone had this happen to them before?

If you had the CFMB instead if the CIB, you'd be able to fix it Check the cables on your foot pedal, one may be hanging or have come off the roller, allowing the head to turn one direction, but not back the other way.

It is a minnkota 55lb. I am sure something came loose inside the pedal..

there is a screw on the shaft, where it swivels, that has come loose and is binding. u need to pull the head and drop the shaft a bit to tighten it up. add a little light grip lock tite to hold. if you dont want to taackle it urself take to the hook

Hmm... i will take a look. When I try to turn the pedal right I dont even get any noise or anyhting.. Like it's almost not connected somewere. I will check this out tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

I meant CMB (as opposed to the EFMB)... Combat Medical Badge. It's what the medics that save the 11 Bravo's *** earn in combat It's all good. Get that trolling motor fixed and catch some fish

The trolling motor you have has electric steering, the system you are describing sounds like you have a bad foot pedal. You can get one at any Minn Kota service center.
