Has anyone tried a trailer hook on a chatterbait? If so, can someone point me in the right direction is it a waste of time? I know they grab everything anyways so am I wasting my time?
Thanks in advance

I always use a trailer on chatterbaits and spinnerbaits, does not seem to affect the action so why not.

Trailer hooks are always a good idea if you can get away with them (i.e. not heavy cover)
For me, chatterbaits are one of those that usually dont need a trailer hook, since they usually arent moving as fast as my spinnerbait or buzzbait.
Rule of thumb, short strike; put on a stinger hook!

YUP- especially the original chatterbaits where the hooks werent the sharpest. If fish are short striking a trailer hook can save the day.BassManDan wrote: Rule of thumb, short strike; put on a stinger hook!

You guys wait for a short strike to add a trailer hook?

I would never consider putting a tailer hook on chatter bait? Especially the way they have been eating it lately.
Tossing that chatter in the weeds with a trailer hook would get hung up to much in my opinion, tie it up and hang on.
