First off the lake is only closed Mon & Tues. Wed-Sun the lake isn't launch-able but open with a large rental fleet and shore access.

Second, construction has begun on the extension. The extension only adds about 12' of depth to the existing ramp. The lake is below that and will need water to cover the extension upon completion. No ETA on when that is and launching can resume, as it isn't raining in CA.

That being said, the lake is virtually empty of anglers and fishing is really good if you know what you are doing.

Maybe if the lake did not hike all the rental, parking, and permit fees before the ramp closed they would have some business. There were 8 cars in the parking lot on a recent Friday according to newspaper article.Article said the ramp will be extended 60',not 120' as planned. This is because lake level did not drop as much as expected due to water saving in Socal and no more drawdown this year. When it does reopen expect to pay around $30 to fish from your own boat solo for parking, permit, launch, and tag to avoid mussel inspection on next visit.
