11/3 decent day
11/3 decent day
Launched at whiskey at 4am...headed slowly to south end of mildred in the fog....huge blowup but that was it...on a white LP....went over to some flats near the bridge and ferry on the middle river...caught a couple 3-4 lbers on white/silver weightless super flukes by the bridge pilings....a couple big swirls on the adjacent flats....headed to franks....nothing....headed to false river.....got a dozen 3-6 lb fish on 3/4 ounce spoons in 30 feet near the ferry there.....headed out throgh fisherman's cut to the deep water channel....fished some flats near the mouth for nothing....headed back toward the mouth of turner cut heading towards whiskey ramp and theres 100 birds circling near lost isle (95% seagulls with very few terns)....it was on for an hour right into the slack (top of tide)...some quality fish too...got a 12 ,a15 and 3 around 8....my buddy got a 10 and a couple 8's and they were active right into the slack ....was waiting for it to break open again when the outgoing started but everything just died when the tide started...which seemed very strange....we we using bone and green/white/silver belly "the ones"....water was dead calm...been doing well with these in real calm water....real slow walk and lots of pausing....90% of fish hit on the pause....water was 60-63 throughout the day

I hope it rains hard soon, drops temp and cleans all of the debri in the water!
Thanks for a great post, wish it were me posting it though!

Re: 11/3 decent day
Many of the spots out west that I've been catching them are now void of any larger fish and very few schoolies. Sounds like many are to be found in the middle to east and north now. Thanks for the report...I have a friend from Reno and Sonora coming down next weekend to take on some linesides. Keep the reports coming.

Yeah went out friday late..was going to work but with all the cloud cover had to go fishing....launched at whiskey at 11 am and headed out to the san joaquin around the mouth of turner cut....fished some 6 ft flats and was using a "the one" in green white silver belly.....fished about an hour for one big swirl....then the giant blowup we all wait for.....fought the fish for 5-6 minutes....around the boat 3 times and a couple screamin runs then it goes slack....i bring in an open snap.....this lure has a concave popper head and the edge lines right up with the side of the snap....the fish made a quick move to the right and must have made the lip lean on the snap............gone........im still feeling the pain and i wont be using a snap on these lures.....my personal best is 32 lbs and this fish was bigger no doubt....after i stopped shaking and swearing for a half hour i caught a couple 5's .....hard lesson learned
