Re: Forget the crap, anyone for the issues???
If Obama was not defending himself from desperate attacks by McSame and the republican party he would try to talk about these issues. Unfortunately lowly attacks by a party that has nothing to offer (which they proved in the last 8 yrs) is all we seem to get from the republicans, Obama on the other hand tried talking about issues but the republicans won't have it.

See the difference is McCain has a 35+ year record of actual accomplishments. All the junior senator has is TALK, no action, no accomplishments, no nothing.
Most of his support is from imbeciles who drank deeply from the "he's not Bush" fountain of koolaid and have neglected to determine if he's even fit to be president based on a history of accomplishments grounded in outstanding leadership skills. He has done nothing, accomplished nothing and led nothing. He is a regular old school politiican who learned early on that his best path to the top is to sit on the sidelines and do nothing, take no action and try to sit on the fence for as long and as much as possible.
Out of all four candidates in this election he is actually the weakest when you carefully consider all factors. Weakest by a mile.

Talk about a career politician, look it up and you will see McSames picture. I am willing to bet he has never held a job that the gov't was not paying his salary.
Have you ever heard the phrase "Those that ignore history are destined to repeat it"? The reason that quote is important is that McSame voted with the Bush agenda 90% of the time (by his own admission) and this country can't afford or for that matter survive on another 4 years like the last 8.
I would like to know what the republican party has done in the last 8 yrs that would warrant my vote?

I would like to know what the Dems have done since they took over that would warrant my vote.
Cut the crap WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE, THATS [DONE] to warrant anybodies vote
You want us to vote for him on what he says he's going to do.
and you dont want anyone to look farther back than when he started running for Pres.
Obama is like any Democat, Take your guns, take your money, Big Brother.
I want less gov. NOT MORE,
I know both are bad, BUT McCain will screw it up less.

Re: Forget the crap, anyone for the issues???
Since no one will answer my question I will.
What have the republicans done to warrant my vote?
Let's start with a record deficit this year, we will be pushing a trillion dollar deficit for this year alone, not to mention that our national debt has nearly doubled since the republicans took office.
The wars, one we should not be in and another we should be winning but the republicans have other plans. We have been in the Iraq war for over 5yrs and over 4,000 lives with no end in sight with McSame in office, meanwhile we are losing the real war on terror in Afghanistan due to the shortage of troops and materials that are all in Iraq.
It's the economy stupid. I don't know what else I can say about this. Stock market down by 1/3, declining home values, bank failures, bailouts, high gas prices, unemployment..................................
There are so many other things that I care not to list but you get the idea and if you don't, take off your blinders

Now what was your point again?
In the book, Obama acknowledges that he used cocaine as a high school student but rejected heroin. “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though,â€

This war is nothing compared to the one that is coming.
It doesnt matter at this point why it was started, It does matter how it ends. I would much rather it be over there than here.
And again, Both are not great choices but I would rather have the known[McCain] than the unknown [Obama]

Re: Forget the crap, anyone for the issues???
How about the poor economy? Both sides had a hand in it. Untill you can control spending, stop pork its not going to change,Maybe line item veto would help.
Illegal immigration bankrupting our schools and hospitals? OK, Secure the border, make all babies born in the U.S. same as mothers citizenship. Start aworkers program only allow in people we need for jobs not filled by us. Again both sides have a hand in this[IMHO] Dems more than Reps.
Iran on the loose . Nothing short of nuking them will stop them. Cannot do that so, the stronger we are, quicker we strike back when attacked, better our chances are.
Iraq war bankrupting our country . Doesnt matter, look[really look] at the world, as long as are haves and havenots, as long as there is more than one religon, as long as there are bullies on the playground, THERE WILL BE WAR.
Social security? S.S. cannot be fixed pay to the ones that have payed in andshut it down in its present form. Start over with something different, maybe a mandatory retirement account, every acc. seperate, like an IRA
Domestic Energy? work towards clean energy, but at the same time use what we have, coal, oil , solar, wind, But if a state[Calif.] does not use their resourses, place a penalty on them . 10 years to get new oil online is crap, I worked in the oil fields, you cut the red tape , it will get done.
Taxes? STOP SPENDING. Before raising taxes again, go back and review where every single dollar goes. Get rid of all outdated spending programs. Stop giving dollars to special instrests. elimnate gov. that is no longer needed. Did I say STOP SPENDING.
Make our tax laws simpler. cut loopholes for everyone[ How about a national sales tax, or flat tax] promote saving instead of spending.
OK what else do you want to talk about.
Again smaller Gov. is better Gov.
I see the system we have now and I play by the rules as they are now. So no Dave I dont care about what I cannot change, I adapt and adjust my life so I can still live how I want too.

I'm thinking the 700 billion spent in Iraq would go a long ways on fixing social security.
Smaller gov't is better but then why has it grown so much under Bush in which McSame agreed with 90% of the time.
If you ask me, I would rather have a tax and spend democrat than a cut tax and spend and pass the bill on to future generations republican.

I am giving up and I just can't wait to see the perfect world we will soon have when we are controlled by Barracko, Pelosi and Ried. The economy will be fixed and the politicians who worked for Fannie/Freddie will go to jail after they are outed by a fair investigation led by themselves, our taxes will drop in half and the deficit will just disappear. I really can't wait to get that free healthcare so I no longer have to pay $40000 each year for BC/BS for my 5 insured employees. That is bankrupting our business and we need the help. I am going to apply right away for the interest free loan to small business Obama has been promising. I believe all this and understand that McCain could never figure out how to pay for all these freebies. The bonus will be getting out of Iraq and invading Pakistan while the Iranians are wiping the Jews off the face of the earth. Good times are comin'.
Re: Forget the crap, anyone for the issues???
I guess its all about if everyone did what was RIGHT instead of what was beneficial to them personally we wouldnt have one whine at all . We complain " my house isnt worth what it was when I took out a crazy loan. (To buy a new 4x4,home remodel and put cash in the bank-that btw is already gone ) 12 months ago .( Anyone really think that there house was now worth what it was appraised for ?) Not I . We complain that the stock market is at all time low (everyone loses money) Bush is the problem ,according to all the knowitalls. Some of then even frequent here I see .Who said wow Pres Bush doing ok last year when it was at the all time high ? NO ONE . Everyone last year patted themselves on the back "My house is worth double ,I have done well in my retirement...awful full of ourselves when things are fine ,yet blame someone else when it goes back-and balances out huh" . Maybe the real number some where in the middle of this mess ? Morally ,we in this country have tanked . Look around . That is the problem . We are so convinced as individuals that are own personal rights are more important ,rather than the big picture-look about how it affects my family, my state ,and country it makes me gag some at times. Never was in the "recreational drug" thing but I kind of relate to it by knowing some who have . I was instructed in school -for every action ,there is a re-action .Karma? Medicine seldom taste good ,but usually cant be done without .

I don't think it will be perfect by any means. The next few years will be very tough and I hope Obama (if he wins) can clean up this mess without having to raise taxes but I don't think he can. Part of the reason we are in this mess is the Bush/McSame low taxes and high spending.Ringer wrote:I am giving up and I just can't wait to see the perfect world we will soon have when we are controlled by Barracko, Pelosi and Ried. But the junior senator continues to repeatedly say 95% of us will get a tax cut under his economic plan. I guess at this point he is just lying out of his a$$, right? He stated this now obvious LIE again several times last night. Yeah he represents change all right, all the change from our piggy banks being redistributed all over the country.FishaHallic wrote: I don't think it will be perfect by any means. And yeah a lot of money was spent over the last 8 years, especially after 9/11, but it's clear most Americans have forgotten how costly that event was

As far as 9/11 goes, that was 7 yrs ago, what does that have to do with nearly a trillion dollar deficit in 2008. Even being conservative with the numbers and say the war in Iraq at 150 billion and maybe 25 billion in Afghanistan, that still leaves almost 750 billion $ deficit for this yr. And all this is assuming that Iraq had something to do with 9/11, which it DID NOT.
I can be very fair with GWs issues due to 9/11 but that still does not account for a near doubling of the national debt during his watch, and the national debt is only part of the problem with the current administration.
BTW, in case I have not said it before but McSame voted with GW 90% of the time.
