If you 'northerns' aren't familiar w/ "Mike"...you truly do not realize what you are missing. Informative-communicative and just an all-around nice guy.
I hear he fishes Club stuff as well as $$Teams.
Makes you wonder how DFG let such a well-versed common sense person slip into their ranks!

Great info right there.
1 thing i have never heard before was: "Anytime the weight of one (1) bass or the combined weight of two (2) bass exceeds five (5) pounds a separate container should be used."
By reading this that means if I cant have more then 2- 2.5lbr's in the same bag. That means if I have 5-2.5lb clones I need 3 bags?

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I appreciate the effort at Diamond Valley. There are way to many anglers that don't know how to care for their fish, or don't care. I had sink a few this weekend that were just left floundering out there right in front of the public. makes us look real good.
JustinD, come on now. You're just keeping the flame lit. We're all just different and not perfect. Peace, let it go......Wow informative and well communicated.....huh...thought that just did matter.

Thanks for the link Mark!! I just printed that whole thread to take to my next club meeting. The info contained there applies to most of our Northern lakes too, even Clear Lake. I have seen quite a few fish pulled up out of deep water there that had to be "fizzed" before they were released.

That is a great post by and everything he said applies not just to So. Cal and Diamond valley. We all see the same things happen up here too.
One thing to remember about the drive up weigh-in that I see all the time. Having your fish in the bag, then floating it in the live well. I see it at every event with a drive up weigh-in that I go to.
Another idea that I've suggested to a few TD's in this area that may be of higher risk of having dead fish, such as a summer night series, but would apply to any other tournaments when we start getting real hot weather, is the sponsor provide the bags and those are the only bags allowed to be used. That way the number of bags and people in line could be kept to the amount the weighmaster can keep up with.

Great info. I've always wonder about the 5lb rule per bag. That is if one fish over 5 gets their own bag then 2 over five should also.

I fished the FPT @ Clearlake and we sat in the water for an hour after we were to check in! Then we sat at the tanks for almost 20 minutes to weigh in! Is their something wrong with this picture?
I now know why it is called fishing and not catching!
