Anyone been to bullards bar latley?

I want to take my kids out for a numbers day, just wondering if they are biting up there before I make the three hour drive for the weekend.

Weird Lake! Haven't been there lately, but you never forget that the spots are stunted. Heard of smallies, never caught them, but if they're in Englebright, they gotta be in Bullards. Crappie too, I remember catching about a 1.5 lb... something to think about if the bass fishing is even less than expected.
By your request for numbers, you obviously know there is nothing big...The fish are notorious bait thevies, so the regular nose-hooked dropshot, I would advise against, rig them with a Gamakatsu G-Lock, an extra inch into the worm. You could probly get away with small cranks and or rat-l-traps. Set up a Mojo rig, 3/16 oz with a 4" handpour and a size 1 G-Lock and just drag it. You could also go with a 1/4-3/8 football head and a decent sized trailer, if anything is gonna catch something better than average, that's where my money would go.

Thanks bassmandan. I keep hearing how many fish there are in the lake.I have a couple little ones who love to fish and want them to catch a wad of fish. The only thing im looking for to be big is smiles. Just want to spend the day with my kids catching a ton of fish and it sounds like this is the place to do it,with the price of gass now days I want to try to pick the best possible time to accomplish the task at hand.
