Hey Pete, As of 1:45 yesterday Flw Series had 170 boaters and 105 co's. And for Stren they had 151 boaters and 149 co's. This was straight from Robert Vanderson to me....Mike G

Can anybody sign up now?? Do you have the guys number?
I'm seriously pondering the thought of stepping up and doing it.
Possibly even as a non boater if need be. Its individual weight right?
What if there are more boaters than non? Do they fish alone? I assume not but I cant imagine FLW turning away entrants.
Also is the payout guaranteed whether they get 200 or not.
Sorry about all the questions.

There's a couple of us traveling together but we are all pros driving our own vehicles. would be nice to share the driving and gas with someone especially all the way up to Columbia river.

Hey Pete, Flw's phone number is 270-252-1000 ask for Robert Vanderson. At this point you have to have a co to sign up with. Flw will never let a boater go alone, and will never pair boaters together. If you decide to sign up as a co, call me, a bud of mine is like 32 on waiting list....Mike G 928-706-7519

I spoke to Robert today. He gave me the the headsup on everything. He seemed like a really nice guy.
Its not looking to good for the pros that didnt signup with a coangler. He said that there were over 170 pros and 110 coanglers. Theres a good chance that a bunch of guys get turned away.

Be careful out there this weekend...

Well, as I stated on the Northwest board, if there's someone who wants to pay my entry fee and help with expenses, I'll gladly sign up as a Co-Angler. Otherwise, this one is too rich for my blood.

i'm with gator, although i will do it for somewhere around half the entry fee. i got a few bucks stashed but not the hole $700. should i win anything, i will pay the pro back by giving him whatever percentage he paid (e.x. pro gives me $350 to fish, thats 50%, supposing i win, i will give the pro half of what i got, give or take a few for tax reasons and what not).

I'm thinking about signing up as a co-angler but not sure yet. I have the days off work BUT, just not the enitre entry fee yet? If someone wanted to get locked in and wanted to pay half I would pay them back if I cashed a check.

Speaking of the National Guard....................any pros or co's from the south coming out besides Mitch, Ricky, and myself? Haven't heard very much from here about making travel arrangements or prefishing. Just wondering cause the northern boys are all over it. It would seem so because the schedule favors them. MP

I'm in as a co-angler. I have to check to see if my travel partner paid his entries over the holidays to see if I need a new travel partner

Mike,
That is because us Pro non ranger guys are not confirmed yet. I signed up for all four and a couple of strens and have only been confirmed for one stren event.

Mike,
Thats what they told me today on the phone. I am just a little frustrated with it. I planned on camping with the wife, (she would sign up and fish just so I could get in but she had knee surgery yesterday) and prefish solo. I cant offer shared expenses from a room and travel standpoint. I really wanted to prefish solo but about all I can offer is expense free prefishing if someone signs up and if we get along maybe a couple of free home cooked meals. (must be a non smoker since I am into day 5 with no cigs for the third time in three years ). I have seen alot of posts asking for entry fees etc but I am not sure of how I feel about that nor am I sure it is within the rules. Oh well hope it works out since I passed on doing the entire Stren (right now time off is an issue) and was counting on fishing the entire Series instead.

If you want to play in the FLW sandbox, better bring your Genmar toys. Sorry, not my rules, just the facts. Rick G.

I just got a call from FLW and they said the Coangler number is up to 135. They're looking for additional people still and calling all leads to fill this tournament.

let me go back a few years...

2003, Stren debuts on the west coast. Tournament numbers are

155, 119, 136, 121, in 2006 ... full field tournaments

2007 took a hit with the Strens because of the National Guard; they will recover.

National Guard has drawn 135 pairs with another 30ish pros signed. I believe had it not been for the advertised lack of co-anglers there would have been a full field of pros signed this year.

I know the Co-anglers will make more of a show in the future. It is just an adjustment to the cost that needs to be made. There is money to be made. I have posted the numbers Co's make... it is huge.

Next year there will be more and those of you who haven't already should go see Grover and get yourselves a Ranger or you will regret not having done so.

I bought a Z20 and the Stren Championship Ranger/Yamaha Contingency has already made me money and I didn't have to wait for signing up.

No more Nitro for me! Did I say "next year"?.. Go see Grover today!
