Delta jig bite

Post by nate50 »

Hey everyone,

I ask this knowing that it’s tourney season so not sure if I will get any responses. In the years past I’ve had a ton of success flipping tullies with a grass jig (not punching). I haven’t been able to get bite on jigs consistently. Has any one found a jig bite?

I have not, but craws and creature baits have been very good in the the areas you described

Nate, I was talking with a friend of mine who also makes jigs about that Delta jig bite. For the past two years it seems as though my jig gets bit more on that outside tulle line with good current or on the deeper tulle island ledge. If there is good current i can flip the deeper tulle points on the up current side for the bite and on the lower tides or lack of movement that outside ledge. That old ledge bite that Cooch used to speak about all the time seems to be the only place i can consistently get a bite going. For trailers the Berkley Max Scent chunk or Max Scent Creature Hog are my starting trailers in the green pumpkin candy.

Thanks guys, I was out in the Stockton area over the past weekend and did pick up a couple jig fish on tullies clean of grass. This year it just hasn’t been like years past, I use to load the boat with a jig. I haven’t flipped the jig on the outer grass lines typically I will punch or Senko the edge. I will let you know how the jig bite on the edge goes later this week

Sounds good, i have just found a punch skirt and trailer is much more effecient in the stuff then a jig but those outer points and tulle island ledges still do good. But nothing like it once was that's for sure and if your not getting bit keep on the boogie or move that grass is lookin sadder and sadder
