issues with an HDS 9 & 7 linked together

Question , I had a Lowrance tech link my HDS 7 in the front of the boat to my HDS 9 on the counsel together, both are GEN 3,
since linking them I have two issues going on , first is the front unit will not display water temp
I have deleted all windows and have created new ones , still no temp , second is when driving I'm reading the HDS 9
when I start fishing up front I have to change the unit to read from the HDS 7 up front and when you move with the big motor the HDS 9 wants to use the front transducer , I did not have these issues before the units were linked together

Any help ???
