I ordered one of the new Curado DC reels from TW back in mid August as a gift. At the time Shimano had given TW a delivery date of Oct 15. From the reviews I thought it might be worth waiting til Oct. 15. Per TW, Shimano can't get some of the parts or something to that effect and won't deliver til Dec 25. No reason at this point to believe Dec. 25 won't get pushed back again to sometime in 2019.
Since ordering it I have read some reviews from people that have had it awhile and some still love it while others don't think it performs as well as their other reels that are in the $150-200 range.
Any current owners that have been using the reel for awhile want to chime in? What pros and cons have you experienced during a few months of use?
Thanks

Really like mine. Used only this past weekend for tournament. Very windy, cast into wind no backlash!!!! It also cast county mile.

It is my favorite reel right now. Casts light and heavy baits equally well.

Re: Thoughts on Curado DC
I’ve had one for a while and just got another one last week. There are a few places other than Tackle Warehouse that have had them available.
I really like it. I can cast a 1/2 oz swimbait a long way without even thumbing the reel on the braid setting with no backlash. I also caught a couple of decent stripers and it handled them just fine.
I haven’t used it with light baits yet.

I have a Curado DC 151XG 8.5, skips like a dream NO backlash on setting 4 but haven't had enough time to play with setting 3 to give an accurate review.

Re: Thoughts on Curado DC
I like mine a lot. A lot is the nostalgia is when a stick first took me out and all he had was the Calais dc. I vividly remember the reels sing all day as he stuck fish after fish. I’d say pick the retrieve based on the application you’re using. I only see the advantage of having the faster retrieve when flipping or skipping a senko. I think the dc system itself is most applicable chucking and winding. strong body, retrieves smooth, and will drag fish through the muck easily. I’ve had mine since July. Jump on Austin Kayak. No tax and free shipping. when tackle warehouse announced they were supposed to get them in October I couldn’t wait that long.
