Sonar Pros Wiring Harness Question

I ordered a Sonar Pros wiring harness to run from a dedicated 16V Lithium and it has fuses built in that will mount above its own perko switch. If I have those I can remove the Garmin inline fuse that is on the power cord correct? I have heard them left in place and other day run the Sonar Pros alone and shorten the power cords to cut down on the run from the 10ga harness. What have you guys done?
