ADVANCED FISHING TECHNOLOGIES, INC. AGGRESSIVELY PURSUES PATENT INFRINGEMENT SUIT
PHOENIX, AZ (November 7, 2005) – Advanced Fishing Technologies, Inc. (AFT) announces its plans to continue actively pursuing its patent infringement case against a well known industry competitor, Xtools, Inc. AFT, manufacturer of the Cul-M-Rite electronic fish scale, has exclusive right, title and interest to U.S. Patent No. 5,545,855. This patent covers AFT’s patented culling scales and the method used by these scales. AFT’s lawsuit alleges that Xtools has knowingly created and is distributing an infringing product.
AFT is seeking to recover damages for this infringement of its patent. In addition, AFT is concerned that sporting goods distributors may not be aware of the serious nature of the infringement nor of the impact upon consumers. “Consumers trust that they are purchasing quality products from the companies named in the suit, but those customers don’t know that the products they are purchasing are infringing AFT’s patent.,â€
