Shimano Curado 300 Review

Post by Dewayne »

Well I finally got a chance to play with the new Shimano Curado 300. Finally! a reel for swim baits that I like. Not too big, not too small. Light for it's line capacity and feels good in your hand. The quality and performance was exactly what we have come to expect from the Shimano Curado line. Casting a Hudleston was a breeze. This reel is probably the best new product I have seen in several years. The only complaint I have is that the drag star on mine seems to turn a bit too easily.

If your looking for a great swim bait reel check them out at the Hook.

Sure would like it in a lefty.I like the rod in my right hand when I'm hooked on to a big female.

They make a lefty for the Japanese market. It's a Shimano Speedmaster 201; has 7 to 1 retrieve ratio and up to 6K of drag. Line capacity the same as the US market 300.

You can find these reels on eBay although they're somewhat rare yet.
