I too have not been here for many moons and for some reason did a search for Rip baits and saw this thread. Devastating news...heartbreaking. My neighbor in Burlingame has a 25 foot boat that needs a 9 foot wide entrance. He had a storage place in Tahoe but recently lost it. He would like an indoor location conveinent to I-80 between San Francisco and the foothills.

Well, I tried the gear puller and there is nothing on the back side of the wheel for it grab on to and noting in the front. This is kicking my butt. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Depends. If you have spots in familiar water that is far from the launch during a tournament then speed counts. If you are way out in the sticks and it's close to weigh in, then speed counts. I think that fire was the weekend after Labor Day unless it burned two weekends in a row. I saw it too. Pretty intense with the CDF chopper and crew they dropped off.
