Re: Anyone Watch "The Cove?"

It is sad indeed. I guess many of the Japanese and folks from other parts of the world (it isn't only the Japanese who practice in killing dolphins and whales) simply have different views when it comes to killing of social animals. When I see whale wars, I wish the U.S. Navy would simply sink one of...

Core vs. Metanium MG7

I have many different reels and to this day, the Metanium is the best reel I have ever fished with.

Now that I am on the market to stock up on reels again, how would you rate the Metanium compared to its American counterpart?

I sincerely hope the cooler weather brings back the bite. The last few days out at the Lagoon has been very tough. Full moon, high temps and no wind created extremely tough conditions. Only a few fish here and there on plastics. The great topwater bite completely died off, as well as the jig bite. T...

Less "All-In" entry fee (plus it covers lakes fees and food in the stomach) and much better pay outs. Hope the other circuits begin to step up to the plate.

BTW, although I have never won a 100% event, I sure miss the organization. Awesome payout structure!

Daiwa reels are pretty but they have the absolute worst drags. Seems like a super strong knot but way too complicated and time consuming. For light line (6-8#) I have never had a breakage with a uni to uni knot and for anything heavier, I personally have complete confidence with a modified albright. Both are easy to tie and quick.
