Re: Eastman Lake boating
People should of course always be safe whenever operating their boat anywhere. However, the reason that the No wake zone is often ignored at Eastman is because it almost literally covers half the lake and in areas where it’s absolutely not necessary. It was originally put there for “the eagles” and ...

**SOLD** I have an A40 (original) 24p Tempest prop for sale. This prop is an original A40 25 pitch that has been repitched to 24. Mark Croxton did the repitch as well as a full balance and blueprint and he installed a new hub. I've run the prop twice since I got it back from him but the boat has bee...

Re: Why don't we have a tournament format like the kayak anglers?
Seems like it would be a good idea to use bump boards, like in the kayak tournaments. Full eight hour tournaments could be ran in the hot summer months with less stress on fish. It would shake things up in the Mother lode lakes as well, certain swimbait guys would not dominate near as much. I could...

Re: Fishing etiquette
This has always seemed like a weird concept to me. If you are just fishing down a long stretch of bank and there is a point or isolated piece of structure more than 50 yds or so in front of you, and someone comes and hits that spot, this seems totally fair to me. If you planned on hitting that spot ...

Re: Believe I saw a world record largemouth
Between my brother and me, we have caught some big ones out of that lake. We’ve also seen some really big ones. World records? Probably not. But I know there are some big ones. It is possible that the fish that followed you up was a large squawfish. They are in there and they get really big. They’re...

Re: 8 inch hudd advice
If you’re fishing with the standard jig hook (my preferred method) then the 806 is a little underpowered IMO. It’ll work but it’s just not really ideal. The 807 model is great for hudds. IROD Bailey swim is perfect. You don’t need to go overkill with the rod but it should be stiff enough in the tip ...

Re: Why do people get so mad about sharing "secret fishing spots"?
I guess it depends on whether you think a spot is YOUR “secret spot” or if it’s something that you saw someone else fishing or someone else showed you the spot. The truth is that the majority of guys out there are not putting the hours in on a lake just trying to find where the good fish are hanging...
Re: Big bass
The Mother Lode lakes are usually a good place to target big bass with swimbaits in the pre-spawn, however as far as I’m aware, there have been little or no trout stockings in the Mother Lode lakes this and most of last year which has made it tougher to get bit on those lakes. There are always trout...

Re: Rod and Reel Setup for a 8oz Swimbait...???
My advice for an 8oz swimbait is indeed a 400 size reel. Its not about line capacity its about being able to withstand the stresses an 8oz swimbait puts on a reel. Frames, gears, anti-reverses etc etc etc. Remember, everything starts and stops at the reel! Dan This. I’ve been a little disappointed ...
