launched bethal monday afternoon during ideal overcast conditions.. burnt quite a bit of gas for 2 fish landed and several other none commitful fish on topwater. one of the fish landed was a doozy, 42.5" and 28#, released... about another week or two and it should really turn on

3/4-1oz kastmasters and 1-1/4 - 2oz DUH spoons but i think they changed the name to blade runner or sumtn ... delta outdoors in oakley got all the colors and sizes u need ... morning dawn n chartreuse/silver color r the bangers

went outa lauritzens in my buddys b-boat around noonish today ... we zoomed zoomed all over the SJ , got about a dozen 5-8lb schoolies on rattle traps n hyper stripers and to my suprise, a couple blowups on topwater late afternoon... apparently they are still willing to play up top... stuck a nice ...

unless you find them boiling somewhere, it'll be tough to get on a good topwater bite right now ... been doin well on swimbaits n bucktails lately... slowest presentation imaginable, so slow you almost fall asleep :( bb and sherman area should have fish, as well as everywhere else on the delta right...

thnx 4 the report ... i was out today for a bit and had pretty similar results as you... lots of swirls and only on the slowest possible retrieve with spooks n punkers ... small fish too, had a few followers of decent size on swimbaits but never ate ... took a look at the barometer when i got home a...

thnx for the report ... it is rather warm for this time of year, hopefully we get some clouds as predicted towards the end of this week ... i cant stand bluebird days in the fall time

I know it's a top water lure ( uh ??) I'm asking if still use it in depth more than say 10'. Didn't expect sarcastic reply as this forum is to help on question. in my experiences , 3-10' is ideal strike zone for tw , 15' max ... clarity can play a big part in how deep you call em up from hope that ...

i purchased the wooden lunker punker jr from the oakland tackle shop off 880 about 5 weeks ago ... since, i've caught my PB @ 31# on it and , well.... its deadly ...plastic has produced a few biggins as well this year but the wood walks a lot better ... thing gets beat up bad quick though, looks lik...

It's hard not to toss top water baits for stripers when they are smashing it. nice fish basstrophy ... bigger fish are definetely into the system and they are hungry ! we've managed to go 2/3 with our encounters with the fat bottom girls and it aint even "time" yet !!! OINK OINK!! :lol:

we went out last thursday afternoon for a couple hours ... overcast with minimal winds was predicted ... over cast was there, minimal wind wasnt ... it was very cold , the wind chill was killing us ... bait casters in frigid waters didnt help ... we managed to have the same luck as russ apparently, ...

No they launch at BBreak or Laurantzians . yep ... they will sit out there for hours, catch their limit , go back to the launch and go back out there for more ... usually got 3 or 4 individuals packed in a lil aluminum like sardines in a can seen it a few times... maybe next time we'll do figure 8'...
