Re: Tilt/Trim Problem?

Hey all - It ended up being the front trim switch. It was obviously very wet and very burnt, and didnt rock back and forth to well... Replaced with Napa p/n RS1077 Rocker Switch ($19.99) and it works like a champ! While I was at it, I replaced the rear one as well. It looks like it was OEM stuff, an...

Re: Tilt/Trim Problem?

Good stuff, everyone.

I'm out to take apart/inspect the front switch, rear switch, main switch and fuse panel. Failing all that I am removing and cleaning the relay(s).

I'll post how it goes later today!

Re: Tilt/Trim Problem?

Got it, Mike. Thanks!

I am going to let it dry overnight again and look at it tomorrow.

If you happen to recall, was the relay something you were able to get at Kragen or Napa, or is it a specialty?

Happy Memorial Day,

Chris

Tilt/Trim Problem?

Hey all - Got back from Shasta Thursday night after fishing in the rain and cold Wednesday afternoon/Thursday morning. I drove home in off and on rain as well, with a couple pretty solid downpours. I went out Friday to Camanche, and found when my main power switch is on, my trim goes up. This can be...

Re: Bass Biology Question

Cool deal, Roger. Good info.

I know it fluctuates with tide and location, but what kind of water temps are you seeing lately?

I'm trying to sneak out and launch out of Paradise Point sometime this week....

Take care,

Chris

Re: Bass Biology Question

Very interesting perspectives! So thus far everyone is in agreement that the fluctuating temps (at least as we have seen on nor cal lakes) are not critical to the survivability of the fry.

Here's to a new batch of future 10 lber's!

Bass Biology Question

Hey all - In fishing Shasta, Camanche, Pardee Melones, etc lately, it's awesome to see the water levels where they are at. Well, maybe not Melones cause they are letting so dang much out, but thats a whole 'nother thread... I hear people say that this will increase the survivability rate due to shor...

Shasta - Where to stay & launch?

Hey all - I am going to Redding for a trade show this Thursday, and was going to come up mid day Wednesday, fish till dark, pull out, fish sunrise till 9:00 am Thursday, and do my trade show. Anyone stayed at Bridge Bay, or someplace close to or on the lake recently? Cost? Accomodations? I'd appreci...

Re: who uses and does not use stabil??

I use Sta-Bil marine formula and only Chevron 89 octane in my 1988 Skeeter SF175 with a freshly rebuilt 1988 Mercury 175. I've heard too many horror stories about other gases, the effects of alcohol in gasoline, etc.

It's cheap insurance and my mechanic recomends it!

Re: Boat Cleaner/Wax Brands

Hey all- I co-own a small company called Kick Bass. We manufacture boat cleaners specifically designed for our type of cleaning. I'd be happy to send some samples if you'd like to try. The cleaners are low or zero VOC, and safe for the environment. We have been sponsoring some AC, CBAF and other sma...

Re: iPhone + navionics = deeply cool...

Yup, it covers the whole delta. They update it all the time for free, and there was just an update this week. There is more detail and clarity on the map as you zoom in now, showing wrecks, emeregent weed areas's, etc. Pretty cool for armchair fishing and research! I use it alot on the water too, bu...

Re: Where to take the boat/motor?

Another good guy is Alan at Marine Engine just north of Arch Road in Stockton off Highway 99. He is a wiz with the older stuff, and has a huge parts inventory.

His website for contact and dirtections is -

Good Luck!

Re: iPhone + navionics = deeply cool...

I agree. I've been using this program a couple months now, and it has helped me to navigate the Delta and other bodies of water, including Melones and Camanche, both in DENSE fog (at idle speed of course, no flames, please!). The depth contours are right on, and the GPS is accurate enough for naviga...
