Fished the McCloud arm last week of July. Found fish in the back of coves and in the willows up toward the bridge. No reaction but 301 spider grubs on a football head jig and 6" Hologram shad or Baby bass worms on drop shot brought in the best fish. If you are taking kids use a bobber and crapp...
On behalf of the anglers WHO are fishing thank you!
I was disappointed when FLW made the decision to eliminate the big fish payout. Though I have never won it, I believe it provided some motivation for guys who were out of it on the 3rd day.
See you on the 20th and thanks again

Here is a link to a static warning and do's and don'ts.
Not a big problem in California because we have vapor recovery.
Covers the cell phone myth too.

Diablo Hawg Hunter, Donny Wagner, passed away in his sleep on 7/11/10. Donny was a fun guy who loved the Delta, Clear Lake and frog fishing. He was a friend and he will be missed. Our best wishes and prayers go out to his wife Chrisie and their families. No details on services have been released. Ba...
We stayed at the Fiesta Henderson during the FLW and it was great. It is right on Lake Mead Highway, 25-30 minutes to Callville.
The rates and the food were great.
Kopper, you have posted some interesting but anecdotal data which has too many variables to mean a lot. I too check the pairings and see who fished with whom and how they placed and compare them with my own draws. I have found, as George pointed out, that is when you draw someone as opposed to whom ...
Gary had a second heart attack but as Gary is prone to do, he did it right. He had it in the Hospital. The good news is they put in a pacemaker/ defib and are getting ready to send him home to recuperate. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts!!!
Barry

Just to add to the very good posts of Jim and Dewayne, A word (okay alot of words) to prospective Ams/Coanglers: You gotta love it. You have to want to be on the water, fishing in the snow, clearing the ice off your rod guides after every cast, riding with a guy you don't really know in an 18ft boat...
to fish these outstanding tournaments. However here is my view: 1. I don't have 8 weeks of vacation so I can't fish both the Stren and the National guard. I suspect most anglers are in this same boat. 2. These 2 fine series are drawing from the same angler pool. A choice had to be made. 3. I will no...
Go to the web site and you will see a gray bar above Stren which says "tournament registration". Click on the bar and follow the prompts. Top 40 from last year can register now, Ranger owners start on the 16th @ 6am PT, Champion & Stratos the next day ,then everyone else. Good luck.......
Trace, The Stren series won't be that much. I suspect it will go up though. The Stren schecdule will probably be similar to this year. I'm hoping they reverse Havasu and Shasta. Pure speculation on my part....Barry
Hipster, I agree. I've been using Flouroclear for over a year and except for one bad spool, I've had no problems. McCoy is still my go to line, however. Vanish makes your fish vanish. Talk about breakoffs. Then again, my buddy loves the stuff. Go figure. : l: ...Barry
get your money in quick! Only 100 spots. $750 is a Pro entry fee for a chance at a Pro size prize. Steve Tosh and Gary Hariguchi were back in New York trying for it. Must be something to it. I'll bet you'll see a lot of Western Pro names on the co-angler side of these unless they conflict with the S...
looks very similar though a little clearer. I think it might of crossed over as they are both blue, with gold and black flake. Both are killers at Clear Lake. My .02. ...Barry
on another succesfull "Reapers Tournament"! You guys and Gals do a great job. Best wishes for continued success. Always a great time. Those little bass you put in Berryessa grow up to be the 15 lbers of tomorrow.Good luck.......Barry
I disagree with the the Pro who said a co-angler should stop fishing. I would laugh at his joke. As Dewayne pointed out , "The Pro has control of the boat". If he thinks his co-angler is beating up his water he can leave. As to being backseated, what is that at Shasta? Fish were in 2 to 60...
I won't say I'm confused but as a Club president I feel the Fed membership has been left out of the fray. The only people who have contacted us throughout this whole mess is BASS. I try to keep up with the goings on by monitoring this site, FLW Outdoors and the hard to use but ever exsistant Bassmas...
They are mandatory. The sheriff at McClure (surprize) glanced at mine while he walked by, don't know if he looked at anybody else. These stickers are a result of skiers barefooting right off the back of the boat and the big guys idleing next to each other. I think they outlawed the sking off the swi...
I would be in providing they didn't conflict with the Stren events. I thought they were a great circuit.BTW 100% BASS Pro/Ams fishes a similar format though it is shared weight and BASS Fed also fishes the old Redman format so there are choices here.Of course with them you don't get a shot at the Al...
I too have had 2 big fish winners from the back. I had a 9.75 in a 100% Delta event from the back but it was 3rd big fish. Can't explain except it may be the guy in the back is fishing slower and the guy in the front got the fishes attention.....Good luck....Barry
Matt Soule and his partner Randy Watts for their 11th place finish in the 100% Bass team championship with Tournament big fish of 6.72 lbs. Great job guys!!!!....Barry
Gary Morris for his 5th place finish as an Am in the BASS Open at Clear Lake. Gary had Am big fish on Friday a 7-12 to make the cut. great job Gary..... .Barry
Rich, You would have to change the hitch on the trailer as well and the problem would remain because the latch would still be at the base of the ball. Try placing pieces of 2x6 lumber under the front truck tires as you back into place. This will lessen the angle and make it easier to release. The gr...
