In an effort to help boost catch rates for anglers, Seaguar has launched a new selection of fishing lines infused with predator-favorite flavors.

New Seaguar Flavored Fluoro is a fluorocarbon-based line that is enhanced with flavor microbes that slowly release a water-activated scent trail as the line is retrieved. “Using patent-pending technology, our team of scientists has created a breakthrough approach in stimulating bites,” said Gerry Benedicto, Seaguar General Manager. “Flavored Fluoro makes it easy for anglers to capitalize on the power of scent in an easy-to-use, mess-free, proven-effective way,” added Benedicto.

Scents, as a commercial tool to stimulate bites, has a long history of success in the fishing industry. Liquid sprays, gels, impregnated bait, and live bait are all examples of scented tools designed to take advantage of a fish’s olfactory system. As in all vertebrates the primary sensory neurons are located in the sensory epithelium, which in fish is called the olfactory rosette, because the leaf-like structures of the lamellae resemble a miniature rose. The sensory neurons have thin axons that terminate in the olfactory bulb in specific synaptic structures called glomeruli.

Flavored Fluoro was developed to penetrate the fish’s olfactory rosette to stimulate bites. As the line enters the water and is retrieved, a trail of scent is released. The more often the line is casted in an area, the greater the scent trail. This ability to provide a wide scent pattern can stimulate a whole school of fish in no time. "These lines are designed to provoke predators into attack modes," explained Benedicto.

Seaguar Flavored Fluoro will be introduced in four flavors: licorice, watermelon, sea salt and bloodworm in line tests of 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 65 lbs, in 200-yard spools. One cast and one whiff, and you’ll understand why Seaguar is Always The Best!

Oh, and by the way . . . APRIL FOOLS!!
