It looks like striper and a carp. Maybe, they got confused

I would like to know about the lake, if anyone can reply.

Have you ever fished there, looking for a new lake that will be close to home.

I have but it's been a while. I would rather tube the Salt River and take some light tackle with me. Now that was fun.

I have fished there a few years back, that and apache. We got smallies and largemouth, but that was in the winter. I do have a topo map of both if you want it. I am moving to Illinois in 1 week, so I will no longer need it.

Beyond Saguaro there are several lakes near Phoenix. Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon and more. Elephante Butte in New Mexico is not that far. Also the Phoenix area has tons of "ponds" with communities built around them. I had a Condo on one lake and I logged over 50 5# largemouth in the two years I lived on the pond. My wife had a 7 1/2# largemouth off of our back patio.
Some of the golf courses have some excellent fishing in thier ponds.......just don't get caught. When you play a round of golf carry a pocket fisherman in your golf bag and don't tell anyone I said that.

The pocket fisherman is a great idea. And dont forget the pocket pool table...especially if you are tubing on the Salt River.. 8)

I have been many times over the years. It is not the same as it was before the fires that were around Apache. Apache is a dead sea now with the fish die off from the golden Algae. Canyon also had a fish die off and so did Saguaro. As a matter of fact they just had another die off a month or so ago. The 3 lakes Apache was well known for huge sacks of smallmouth over the years. At certain times it would take over 25#'s of smallies to win there. Canyon and Saguaro are not real tournament lakes for Az. They do have turkey shoots and the good old wed. night 3 fish tournament. These lakes used to be land of giants but it may not ever be again. I myself on Saguaro caught a 12#'er and 2 fish over 9 in 1 afternoon as well as many many 5 pounders. Saguaro still has some big fish and so does Canyon but not like it used to have. The fish die off's of the past couple of years has depleated the big fish population dramatically.
They do stock trout in Canyon and Saguaro in the winter so the swimbait can rally catch them on those 2 lakes.
These 2 lakes are major recreation lakes also so you will see many things going on like you see at Havasu. :D
I would still go and fish at either one if given the chance because of the possibility of still catching a fish over the 10 pound mark as there is still a lot in there still.
Canyon is as the name says a deep Canyon Lake with High walls and very few flats.
Saguaro on the other hand has a lot of brush and also tullies all over the lake.
The water levels on these 2 lakes are kept high most of the time as they are able to back flush the water in and out of the lake as they see fit. It is also kept high for recreation purposes as on Saguaro there is a great boat in camp ground that gets some wild things going on late in the day and well into the night. (think crazy horse :D but with nowhere to go because you boated in to the campground )
I hope this helps you a little bit. Also never forget Bartlett Lake as it is awesome for just #'s of fish. I have had so many 100 fish days there I have lost track. 1 more lake not to forget is Roosevelt It is AWESOME and the water is still up to the new dam. This is another lake where I have had loads of 100 fish days and with some size mixed in. 5# smallies and 8 pound plus largemouth. I remember catching back to back 5 pound largemouth on a Rico and making another cast and getting a 4 pound smallie in the same spot. My partner also caught 1 more fish from that spot a 10 pound 6 oz. largemouth. That lake has them big and small a must visit for anyone in Az.
Good Luck and I hope this helps,
Ray L.

No I am not but I fished a couple of seasons down there in team tournaments. I also fished W.O.N. Pro Am's there and also Red Man when they went. I also have family there and also many very good friends from the Valley of the Sun.
