There really is no "proper" way Jigs, I've rigged em Texas rigged, C-rigged, football head jigs and even tossed em weightless to beds or as a topwater. Forward, backwards, whatever suits yer bass' fancy!

Pard and I caught em good last Wed. and Thurs. during the moonphase mid day bite time. We used 323 color Kreatures rigged Texas 3/0 gama superline hooks, 3/16 and 1/4 tru tungston sinkers with clear glass beads. Hooked right side or upside, either way. 14 and 17 Fluorocarbon line.

Backwards vs. Forwards?

Post by Marc »

I have tried rigging them "backwards" and "forwards", and I can't tell you which way is which, nor can I tell any difference in success! It seems to work equally well, either way.

This kind of drives me nuts cause I hate when I can't figure out the best way to rig something...but I guess I will have to keep trying.

The good news is that when the fish quit biting it one way, you can switch it around and start catching them again!

cut about a half inch out of the mid section and then turn the legs around.

The end with the skirt is a harder rubber, so it holds on the hook better. I rig through the skirt, just like a hula grub.
