A-Rig Lure Wrap

Post by TeamBeefmaster »

anyone have any suggestions on the best a-rig lure wraps to use? the ones ive seen look too small. I do not want to fatigue the wire too much by unnecessary bending.

Im getting sick of playing jenga every time i take the rod outta the rod locker... thanks!!!

a regular rod sock should slide down the length of the rod over the main wires. A simple velcro lure rap should cover us the rest of the hooks.

Take a piece of surgical tube, cut it into a rubber band and put over the head of the rig. Looks like this open.

Or stowed

We use a rubber band to hold the wires together. If your looking for a more secure way to store them?
You can get plastic bags 2.5" wide X 12" long.

I use a piece of 1 1/2" plastic sprinkler pipe cut about 10" long. The lure and swim baits all easily slide into the tubing and keeps the wires from damage in the bottom of you rod locker. It works well tied onto your line or just as a way to store them till ready to tie on.

I've been using the same O Ring I use for Senkos. Slip it over the head before you tie it on. Slide it down when you want to stow it. Slide it up when you want to fish it.

I'm not much of a DIY guy. I use a Eye Surrender, bait wrap.

Not really a "wrap" but an interesting addition (a control ring) on this one shown in the two-minute video at about 1:32

simplest thing Goodman is to invest in a .99 cent bag of rubber bands and wrap them around the rig.

Darlene W. cut a slit in a 1 gallon zip lock baggie, and slid it down the rod and over the rig when it's tied on.
The same baggie holds the rig when it's not tied on.

What works for me is simple 16.9oz water bottle, cut the top 2" off and slide it over the rig - attach one of the baits to hook keeper on the rod. For storing I use rubber washer commonly found on the female end of your garden hoses. These easily slip over most A-rig head designs and hold up quite well - works well when storing in boxes.

Keep it simple,

Storing an ARig depends on size (which is length, usually), as I build all sizes, however here's a method that works for me.
Take a flat piece of heavier guage plastic. Cut it to length to match length needed, roll in to approximately 2 inch diameter (again dependent on style of ARig). Use duct tape along the edge to seal, and at both ends. Walla, a clear, durable, custom, holder for any ARig!

I've graduated from the 1 gallon zip lock baggie, although this worked it required me to use a binder ring to hold the wires together before slipping the bag over my rod handle, reel and rig. I made a nice wrap for my C-Rig from heavy canvas and velcro instead.
