Everything works there. They won't let in a gas powered boat, electric only. Can't even say I won't start the big motor they won't let you in. Float tubes and kayaks are great there. Call and make sure there trout derby isn't that day. The fishing is great when they plant trout for the bass to eat, but every 7 year old with a zebco 209 will try and kill you with a bobber. Lol

I might be out there camping in the trailer Saturday night if I can talk the wife out of Tahoe.

I have been there three times in the last month, and went there today. I've been going there for years, and love the place. many people say its good years are long gone due to the presure it gets, and the meat eatters that take for eats! Theres still big ones to be caught there, I've seen them. :D

When I went 4 weeks ago there was tons of small ones cruising the shallows, and males on beds. I caught fish just nothing of any size. (small keepers) I went again the following week, and caught more fish in the 2 to 3lb range, but I saw a bunch of 4 to 6lbers cruising the shallows with the smaller ones. I also had one break me off that felt like a really good one. I went today, and saw a ton of fish cruising the shallows from rats to 5 plus lbers. The rats are easy to catch all day long, but the bigger ones take off when they see you. I caught over 15 fish today in the range of rats to 3lbers nothing big. I did find one on a bed that was around 6lbs, and it was locked on the bed. I pulled out the small white swimbait and dropped it in front of her.. She started twitching, and flairing so i thought for sure I could get her!! After a couple tosses on the bed she grab the bait, i set the hook, and had her for 2 seconds and she shook off!! And then she left the bed and never came back! MFER!!!! Typically (for me) If I hook a fish thats locked on a bed and it comes off I can still get them to go again. But NOT this one.

So to answer your question they are moving up, and some are on beds, but the unstable weather has them going up and down. The bigger one will be spawning deeper 10ft plus. You should be able to find some bed fish, and theres beds everywhere. If your looking to just catch fish toss any senko rig, greens, and browns. (wacky, wacky nail weighed, texas rigged etc) Theres always a breeze there, and when it starts blowin toss a white fluke weightless they love that chit there!! The mornings always suck for me, but from 11am to 3pm the bite always seems to get better for me. The drop shot works well there too, just make sure you up your line size cause theres tons of weeds there. I always bring 5 baits that have worked well for me there over the years. Senkos, Flukes, poppers, small swimbaits, drop shot! You can catch them on a ton of other stuff too, but thats what works for me. If you can go on a weekday do it, on the weekends its getting a lot of pressure right now! I have talked to three guys out there that claim they caught DDs there in the last 2 months!

Look for beds, fish the out side weed lines, and again toss that fluke when the wind blows...

Good luck!
