I installed one in my last two Rangers and never regretted it...

At sixty years old, my knees would really become tired after fishing all day standing on one leg..Since I installed the comfortroll I havn't had a problem..I installed the other brand on my old Ranger and the only complaint I had was that you could step down into the recessed part and twist your ankle...I only did that once, but it sure hurt..I went with the comfortroll this time because it is rounded near the seat and you are less likely to slip in...

It only takes about an hour to install..Be sure and call the shop and they will go out of their way to help with the installation..

good luck

P.S,,,be sure and install it with the rounded end near the butt seat...someone I know "didn't read the instructions and cut the hole the wrong way..."

Pro's:

- Allows for a more natural standing position alleviating back and knee aches
- Keeps the foot pedal in a secure spot and out of the way when walking around the front deck

Con's:

- Having to cut a hole in the deck of your boat :(
- If you're used to kicking around the foot pedal depending on which side of the boat you're fishing, the fixed position of this type of system can take some getting used to

Well... I had my similarly styled recess box installed at the shop where I bought my boat (AIM Marine!! :) ) ... and the location is way up front towards the bow, so, there's really no storage area to speak of up there on my boat.

But I know if i were to do it myself, I'd have some serious heartache over cutting that hole in my deck - it's just the way I'm wired... lol

i also installed one in my Tahoe S&F and I would recommend it to all my friends. However i did not have storage underneath it.....I did however have storage on the left side rear and by adding a second trolling motor battery i lost that storage compartment...ya gotta do what ya gotta do....
