Mid Strolling spinning rod
Any suggestions on a mid strolling spinning rod? Would like to keep it under $300! Thanks!

If you have a drop shot rod you like...that will do the job...Mine cost more than 300 but since I already owned them I gave them a try. I had a 25 pound bag the first week of December and I don't have FFS but have not had any issues without being able to actually see fish...You just have to have a little faith and you'll be surprised at the results.

JL, I just stared experimenting with this technique (old dog new tricks thing
) and like Kelly, with out FFS and am very surprised. Currently using an older (when Gary owned the company) G Loomis DSR820S rod paired with a Diawa 1500 SS and 6# flouro. Also had to learn how to tie a loop knot.
Make sure your reel has a good drag system as it will take some time to pull in those larger fish. (backreeling works too
) Good Luck and have fun and be patient.

I use a Phenix Ultra MBX-S 706L spinning rod. It is classified as
a dropshot rod but has the tip action that is excellent for mid strolling.
Price point is right at $300

I looked on the Phenix website. I didn't find a 706L? I saw a Medium. Maybe I was at the wrong site?
